(1) A raiding healing priest can get both important raid buffs (Improved DS) and their 41 point talent.
They changed the position of Paladin Blessing of Kings years ago to allow a pally to reach the bottom talent of their holy tree and still get BoK. The result was not every pally has BoK, but they aren't gimped on healing if they do.
(2) A raiding healing priest can have a viable build with just one tree.
Every other class that I know of can have a viable build with just one tree, certainly all of the healing classes. The location of Meditation does not make this option possible for priests.
The REAL solution - make Meditation a trained skill or move to Holy Tree (but still near the top), and move Divine Spirit and Improved Divine Spirit up in the Disc tree.

Divine Spirit sounds like it should be a holy talent. Meditation I would prefer to see in the holy tree but I can at least agree that meditation sounds like a "mental discipline" thing and let that one slide. Besides, meditation at least isn't all that deep in the tree. I'd prefer if it were 2nd tier instead of 3rd, but it isn't bad.
I really like the idea of a talent in holy like the "mage armor" spell: a self-buff that increases spirit based regeneration "while casting". Add in a couple ranks of "improved" that give a bit of bonus +dmg/heal to holy spells and you've got an excellent talent for holy-spec characters to give them room to go deep into holy without utterly gimping themselves outside of groups.

Player's usually take divine spirit over circle of healing.

What about Meditation? Every priest who desires to attempt at PvE is forced to pick this up, Shadow or Holy. You've said nothing about this.

Yes, YOU like it where it is. 99% of the priest population doesn't. And for most people, it isn't a choice. Might as well ask us to choose bewteen one of our children or the other (yea, dramatic i know.)
EDIT: please Neth, tell us what other class needs to choose between a 23 point skill in a support tree and a 41 point skill in their main tree?

Choice? There is NO choice. You HAVE to spec it... seriously look at armory profiles and see how many people CHOOSE DS over CoH... Its insane. There is no CHOICE at all. DS is better than CoH in every way. Thus there will never be a CHOICE as long as DS is in disc.

You know, by moving it to holy you can make disc more of the survivabilty tree it was meant to be. Hell, i say stick pain suppression as the new disc 21, and put Sleep as the 41.
