Thinking about taking your freshly minted level 70 pally to heroics, Kara or Gruuls' but aren't sure if you're gear is up to par yet?

Here is a simple guide to all the best Pally gear that can be obtained outside of raids and heroics. This is the type of gear that will prepare you for the raids and heroics and it's not that hard to come by so go get it! Once you get it, get it enchanted and get the socketted items filled with the best gems you can afford.

I put together this database for my guild and I thought the Holy Pally community as whole might find it handy. Not only is it nice to know where to get the good pre-raid gear but it's good to know what's available so you can enchant and socket the items with confidence that you won't be getting anything better any time soon.

The gear found here can all be attained outside of raids and heroic instances. Much of the gear is obtained through easy to complete quest rewards.

The second post in this thread will discuss gems for healing and the 3rd will have all relevent healing enchants for your gear.

*Note- I made an arbitrary decision to only include mail and plate on this list for sake of brevity. I also put mail below plate though some of the mail is arguably better for pure healing power. Strong arguments can certainly be made for including some leather and cloth items on your healing setup as well. Epic crafted sets such as the whitemend tailoring set http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=571 are certainly worthy on consideration. However for in an depth look into leather and cloth you'll have to go elsewhere....

One reason why having a list of available items is helpful is that once you see what is available you can then enchant the items you aquire without fear of suddenly and unexpectedly upgrading an item in your next instance run. The list I've compiled usually prioritizes the best on each slot first for easier reference though sometimes personal preference may dictate otherwise.

So now you have these items what should you put on them? I suggest always using the best gems and enchants you can afford once you get the best pre-raid item you can aquire so long as your bankroll can accomodate it.

Epic Gems are not going to be found evry often and might be worth hanging onto until you get your raid gear....
