**I posted this in the Bug Forum, but I feel supporting it in the Druid Forum might strengthen the argument**

The 41 point Balance Druid talent Force of Nature is not working as intended (I hope) against hunters and even other classes in select environments.

After using my 41 point talent with a 3 minute cooldown, hunters simply Feign Death and I have no ability to redirect my treants from the hunter's pet back to the hunter. I hope this is an unintentional foresight.

Solution: Please give Force of Nature a pet bar. Druids need control, not simplicity.

I am constantly frustrated in Arenas by my trees occasionally being brilliant - and occasionally being total morons. :) I will summon them right beneath the feet of the enemy healer, and they will break off and go for the Warrior or Warlock, or something else totally, maddeningly wrong. When they stay on target they are fantastic. My 2v2 has won matches because of those things.

But on too many other occasions they will go for the wrong target, or even just stand around like the Three Stooges doing nothing and utterly wasting the cast.

A pet bar would solve these problems. Even just an "Attack target" button would be welcome just to keep them on the stick.

I AM READY TO BE OVERPOWERED!

I just specced to balance last night (you can tell by my crap-tastic gear) and I was pretty disappointed with how my Treants acted. Either they would go to the wrong target or, the target would get CC'd some how and then they would just come hang out by me while I was getting my butt kicked.

I was balance til 61, but then went Feral. I too respecced last night, and the frustration of wasting my 41 point talent came alive once more.

/signed? ( i didn't know this was a petition =P)

but yeah, i agree.. though, i've never had this problem, i've heard many druids have the same problem..

now, if the treants DO get a pet bar, will it be one for all three? or will they each have a seperate bar? hmmmmm......

This was a constant source of frustration for me too while I was still balance (tanking at the moment) and the mobs that are neutral - they NEVER attack! I hated that.

Rawr Bomb Fail.

Just be like me and don't spec them at all.

Wow, no thanks. Even with some bugs they are better than...well, any of the other selections in Balance. Especially since you didn't even bother getting Nature's Swiftness.

The treants behave the same way that the snakes do in the hunter's snake trap: attacking randomly only hostile mobs within a limited range. They can behave in quite unexpected ways, by attacking unintended targets, which will then aggro onto you when the treants despawn.

In other words, they aren't too bright.

When I leveled to 70 as a moonkin, I had some glorious moments when my treants would come out and wtfpwn a mob or save a desperate situation. I also had some not-so-great moments when they aggroed the mob I was attacking, the mob's friend Bob, and Bob's cousins, sisters, and aunts (looking other-worldly in a giant chicken suit doesn't pacifiy the natives).

I think its safe to say that the treants will never get a pet bar--although I do envy mages with their pet-bar controlled water elemental. The most we can hope for is some tuning of the treants' logic.

Let's not forget that shadow priests also have a pet with a pet bar, and I believe (but may be mistaken) that shaman can even control their elementals...which magically appear from a stick in the ground, and are yet controlled by the shaman.

It is a shame when our 41 point, 3 min CD, talent Force of Nature is as controllable as a hunter's non-talent snake trap. It is a further shame when we rely so much on treants, whereas other select classes are in control of pets that were introduced long after treants were forgotten.

Perhaps this post should pew pew Blizzard for putting treants on the back burner with feral range bug, druid itemization problems, and some of the worst looking models in the game (bear, cat, travel). Meanwhile the minds of blizzard are brushing away a few loose pixels off the Warlock HWL shoulders, designing new traps for hunters, creating new abilities for hunter pets to learn, and hot-fixing paladin concerns.

I don't ever expect Blizzard to publicly announce druids are their bastard children. I just hope someday they quietly mail us our long overdue child support checks, rather than announcing that we're simply not talented (Blizzcon 07).

We really have no real control of our treants, just drop them and HOPE that they attack a target

Even in raids...I will drop my treants on a target and they run back to me and just sit there, not even when i start to take damage do they attack, they just sit there. gg

Actually, the hunter's feign death is probably intentional in shaking off your treants. You can redirect them to the hunter by cycloning the pet.

The real "bug" is when treants do not attack when they are casted. There are plenty of other problems with them - being uncontrollable is annoying, and them not going for the target you want them to is also a pain. But other than incredible stupidity, they're not real "bugs", at least in a way that you can get Blizzard to admit to. But treants standing around doing nothing while an enemy is actively hitting you is for sure a bug and that needs some attention first.

They used to call me Sapphiron...

I'm still debating whether or not to respec for the tree stooges. If there was a pet bar, I'd respec in an instant.

I prefer NS over FoN. Then again, I always play on teams where people expect me to heal, and i can't go balls to the wall DPS.

Course, i'm resto right now, so it's all pretty moot lol

"I need that +str gear so I can heal you better. No, really."
