FFXI proved it's possible to have a multi-platform MMORPG, so when will Blizzard (the god of MMORPGs this gen) get with the times? Do they feel they're so rich they don't need any extra revenue?

I was browsing the topic about Dalaran being the new lag city, when somebody posted a link to a 500 dollar video card. Jesus christ, to avoid bottleneck on that thing you would need an equally great processor, but what's the point when you could be gaming in high-definition on a TV for less?

I think it would suck on a console because of the controls. No console controller can match the scrolling speed of a mouse, except for maybe the Wii controller, but I'm not overly impressed with the internet connection abilities of the Wii.

So as much I'd LIKE to see it on a PS3 or whatever, I don't think it's practical.

I have seen what the 360 and PS3 can handle. They could easily handle WoW, believe me. And forget about the Wii, not happening.

PS3 and 360 probably isn't happening either but it would be very much possible.

Blizzard is a PC games maker, and it has made them fat and wealthy. At launch, Burning Crusade outsold any and all console games.

And you don't need a $500 video card to play WoW. Look at the screenshot of the day. Does it look like it's DX10?

It just doesn't make financial sense to develop and support a console executable. Of course it is possible, it just doesn't make sense.

Heh yeah. To be honest though, with PS3's and 360's around, HD capability and on and on, I'd buy either console in a second if the MMORPG's of today and the future had simultaneous release dates.

I'd much rather sit in a couch with a big screen HD TV than a computer.

I don't see why it doesn't make sense to you. There are scores of console players out there with console system better than many of the PC's some people use to play WoW with. And they would probably love to play WoW on their consoles.

Not to mention many of them won't buy into the constant need for upgrades to play PC games.

I think it could work on another console after voice chat comes out.
You wont even need to use a keyboard or mouse just the controller.
To play the game with the controller you would use the analog sticks to move your self and the camera of course.
And to use skills ( Im just going to use 360 here for example) you would use A, B, X, and Y, and you would hold down left or right trigger/bumpers for different skills to come up over ABXY.

WoW is a lot faster paced than FFXI. FFXI is perfectly workable on the PS2 and 360 because of it's slow pace. If you were a Paladin tank, you generally used 2 abilities every 30 seconds, maybe a heal here and there and the occasional weaponskill. Dark Knights used even less, Dragoons and Warriors too.
Not saying it's a bad thing, it's just different and it worked.
I have 4 action bars full of buttons, I don't see how you could fit that on a controller.

Sure, you could use a keyboard and mouse, but I really don't think that's a popular idea with consoles.

You'd be suprised.

Everybody I personally know, including me, that owns a 360, owns a keyboard and mouse. Better yet, use the crap from your **%%ty computer on it(I would if I had to.)

I would kill for WoW on the 360, my computer is nowhere near great, sporting a whole 512 of ROFLRAM. ><

Even if WoW is "faster paced"(Which it can be, but at times, FFXI really did get intense, CoP missions, anyone?) a keyboard and mouse, or even a controller will work. It would be harder to play on a controller, since you'd have to "mouse" every hotkey, but yeah.. It can work. I mean for leveling, I use all of 4 buttons, excluding moving... =/
