This post really doesn't concern noobs. I just want to know whats up with this. I know that I did read this from a blue post. I guess it's one of those dead ideas... like hero classes.

A good friend of mine, who has sadly quit playing since, achieved rank 13 by doing nothing but afking in battlegrounds. He also maxed out his fishing skill in AV and AB. Night elf hunters make great afk fishers.

Blizzard actually helped twinks quite a bit by releasing new enchants without proper limits on their application (i.e. the leatherworking pants enchants, the enchants that require level 36 (gg level 30-39 bracket), etc).

They also went and converted low level items that provided % increases like "+1% to dodge" or "+1% to crit" into the new rating system... yet instead of using the item's level to decide just how much rating they give, they used level 60 conversions. So that twink level 19 that used to get 1% to dodge from his trinket is now getting 5%, and 80% dodge is easily reachable. It's all out of whack, and I doubt they care in the least bit.

Twinks are rediculous. Plain and simple.

Why??

Because the game was suppose to be an RPG based on levels.

Or perhaps I missed something along the way when it said "role-playing game" where I assume a role and build my character over time.. which somehow means something in the game world and isn't negated by a better weapon or peice of armor or whatever.

However... what do we have??

A game based entirely on GEAR..

Levels are simply an exercise in content delivery.

Why even have the levels? Whats the point? Any ass-hat with half a brain and a little gold, either bought or earned thru thier other chars efforts, can go out and purchase or mine out all the blues needed to gear up a low level THEN buy or create all the enchants to make that said well geared character almost unstoppable.

And lets assume that the levels are gone and you simply gain reputation and gear from questing or adventuring or going into instances. Wouldn't the gameplay be the same? The difference being that you'd actually realize that you need to get that crap to make a difference instead of believing that your level is more meaningful?? Hahahha.. thats ingenious.

Tell that to the lvl 10 rogue with 127% dodge.

Better question: Why are there still undergeared, underleveled players in MY battleground?

In the time it takes the queue to pop and the game to end, you lvl 14s could be halfway to 16. Take a day of that, boom, you're 19. Same basically goes for all of the twink brackets.

You don't want to blow the gold on the enchants, that's fine. I'm not one of the people who complains about people who "only" have x amount of hp, i just want you to have some stamina on your gear and be at least lvl 17 to be useful. It's not a difficult concept.

5g and 1 day can take a character of any class from being a lvl 12 waste of space to being a productive lvl 17-19 character. 20-29 isn't much different, and the 30-39 makes it easier to get the gear by just running instances.

It's a common fallacy that you have to be a full twink to help your team and survive. I've been playing in the twink bgs for over a year, I've seen exactly 6 groups of full twinks. Every other group I've seen has a few, maybe even half, and the other 4-7 spots are filled by random people who haven't blown hundreds of gold on enchants and gear. The team that wins is the team that has the fewest number of people with 300 hp who try to 1v1 full twinks. Heal, stun, fear, sheep, slow, all of those are abilities you can use to help your team win.

The game is also not about PvP.
I guess if you do like pvp - then I see no reason why not to twink. And if you don't realy care about PvP - just play to 70, get a good guild and raid. Noone stops you from doing PvP occasionally at 70.

The matching system is in for 2.1; however it picking and choosing is fairly loose to match the amount of people playing in the battlegrounds currently. There simply aren't as many people playing now, from say when the new honor system had launched, and we would rather get players into battleground matches sooner than have them wait around just to match them with the people they were probably going to be matched with anyway. Bottom line is that with enough people in queue you're going to see some better matching, but in the lower levels where there's generally already slim pickings the chance you'll see a twink every once in a while is probably pretty good.

This game isn't about pvp... your right.

Actually its a 50/50 mix between pvp and pve (raiding, questing, grinding, leveling).

So if all of that is important and meaningful for the masses why not eliminate the levels. Your all the same level in the end anyway.. take it out.. everyone's the same BUT not the same gear. So you do the same that you do now at level 70.. you adventure and quest and grinding and farm and do whatever the hell it is you want to do to get the gear and reputation so you can get the right gear. Then once you have the decent gear you can work on attunements and other charades of the WoW world.

Or is that somehow meaningless since you can go anywhere and do anything? Isn't that what it is just slowed down by leveling?

Well, there has been a lot of talk about BG gear matching going into 2.1.0 (for the past few months). And then the 2.1.0 patch notes come out (PTR though) with no mention of it. I was saddened by this, but if it is going in, I'm happy again!

It's just something I've been waiting for, for a very long time, and I really look forward to seeing how well it works (more so as more people hit 70).

That was the driving force behind my post. You could be patching the patching program while it generates patchnotes about the latest patch yet add the patchnotes for its own patch on its own.
