Q u o t e:
Your math is so wrong I dont know where to start so ill start over
1600 AP = 114 DPS
With an 88.1 DPS weapon
88.1 + 114 = 202 DPS
202*2.7 = 545.4 Damage Per Hit
With windfury thats 14 attacks in 27 seconds
14*545.4/27 = 1.4 * 202 DPS = 282.8 DPS
With a 2 DPS weapon
2 + 114 = 116 DPS
116*3.5 = 406 Damage Per Hit.
14*406/35 = 1.4 * 116 DPS = 162.4 DPS
In conclusion: Windfury adds a FLAT 40% DPS go back to 3rd grade.
first off, as i drove into work, i recognized that indeed I added the dps of the weapon, as opposed to weapon damage.
what i *should* have written was:
Windfury attack with dragonmaw =
238 + ((1600+445)/14)*2.7 = 633 dmg per hit
and Windfury attack with the lvl 4 axe =
2 + ((1600 + 445)/14)*3.5 = 513 dmg per hit.
so in this respect, you are correct, and I'll take my lumps as advertised.
Scalingwise, however, you can find the equilibrium:
238 + ((AP + 445)/14)*2.7 = 2 + ((AP + 445)/14)*3.5
324 + 2.7AP/14 = 113 + 3.5AP/14
211 = 0.8*AP/14
2954 = 0.8*AP
AP = 3692
So yeah, i was way off on that. I'm not going to delete my post, because I dont mind showing that I was wrong. The fact of the matter is, however, that the scaling makes it possible for it to be overtaken, and the threshold is much lower if you use a more common mainhand axe such as Grand Marshal's cleaver (equivalent @ 2426 AP, manageable in raids), or the lavaforged warhammer (1638 AP).
But in short, my math was way off, you're right.
