0. Free Character Moves 9/3-9/10 09/02/2008 05:24:04 PM PDT
We will be offering free character moves from a selected high population realm to a lower populated realm, assisting in population dispersal. The ability to move a character on the selected source realms will become available on Wednesday, September 3 at 12:00PM PDT, and are scheduled to run until Wednesday, September 10 at 12:00PM PDT.
In the event that these realms meet our transfer goals before the scheduled end date, the transfers to that realm will be disabled. We highly recommend that if you are planning to transfer that you do so at your earliest convenience. No characters will be eligible for these free moves once the transfers have been closed.

Stop complaining about Mal'Ganis. Yes, it has been up for free transfers many times. This just means the realm is very popular with players and Blizzard is allowing players who wish to leave a free transfer.

Why would anyone player in their right mind leave Illidan for a dead server? I would rather have Illidown with all it's lag and crashes, then play on a dead server with no economy/players.
According to warcraftrealms.com there are 3300 active characters total on Zuluhed. I can promise you that there are more then 3300 players logged onto Illidan right now!
The more I see Illidan on these lists, the more I think it's just a scam to try and lure these players away, only to have they pay $25 to transfer back to Illidan after the cooldown period.
Stop it with the free transfer crap and just combine/merge servers already!

But I assume you meant we need low-pop server mergers.
Correct, they should merge the lower population realms. They have too many servers they need to suck it up and just transfer all characters on realm A to realm B and have a vote for the realm name.
Example:
Realm A: Skullcrusher
Realm B: Blackrock
Rename suggestions:
Blackened Skull
Black Skullrock
etc, etc.
or even have a vote like:
Blizzard Poster (Please make a list of your favorite 20 realm names)
Players would then post them and they would use majority to name them.
Of course only EST would go to EST or PST to PST to prevent time zone problems.

Personally I'm gald they finally added my server to the free transfer list. I can finally get oout of this over crowd, ass hat infested, lag-a-rific nightmare of a server.
Pretty sad too, it was such a nice place in the beginning... then the morons started piling in...

/sigh. I swear its always the same few realms that are on this list. I really don't know why they keep offering xfers off some of the bigger ones. It's pretty obvious people don't want to go from active, large server ---> dead, small server. And why would they?
I don't know why server mergers aren't a possibility. It seems they would save money in the long run by not having to operate as many servers, as well as solve the Low Population Server Problem.
