I'd say the majority of people doing arena right now is for the gear, which is clearly superior to tier 4 gear and viable enough to qualify as raiding gear. After season one is over and everyone got their gear. There is absolutely no incentive for the Average Joe Arena player to play anymore.
What's in store for the future? are new items going to be added to entice more people into doing arenas?
Doubt it.
We know well enough a lot of arena teams play the MINIMUM 10-20 games to keep the arena points flowing. I'm predicting 30 minute - 1 hour waiting times when Arena Season 2 is about mid-swing up towards to end, once everyone established their "rating"
What gives top rated teams an incentive to play past their minimum 10 games when 9 of 10 teams they play is a lower rated team. I am already starting to see this problem already.

Well apparently someone wasn't here pre-BC when blizz gave us the full lowdown on what's gonna happen with arena seasons.
every season the lootz change. also the best rated team of every battlegroup gets a special reward at the end of the season.
Also, in case u havn't noticed, teams are getting sponsored in real life. Right now i know of 2 teams that gaming companies have sponsored. ya, i know it's crazy, but read the curse-gaming wow portal. IDK about u, but the idea of getting sponsored to play wow sounds pretty good to me.
Blizz hates me... 1/1000 rolls.... letting pally's and druids tank... making me ALWAYS get owned in pvp...

Healing weapons and possible Tier 5/6 equivalents will do the trick. Remember, black Temple and Tier 6 is being added in the near future, so it'd make sense for an equal-level gear addition to be made.

New items may be added at the start of a new season, depending on progression on the PvE front as well as what PvE content is available. The end/start of a season is only guaranteed to mark the point where the title and armored nether drake rewards are given out. New items being added is dependant upon PvE factors.
To clarify a previous bit of information that we've given out that was incorrect; arena team ratings do not reset at the end of a season. Teams won't have to go through a 'reset period' where they're struggling to regain where they were.
Not all teams are going to have all of the rewards by the second season, in fact the large majority won't. Also, your arena points don't degrade and aren't removed at the end of the season, so you're building points as you go. Even if there are no rewards you want the prospect of new items in the future which you're saving up for, and of course the end of season rewards (title and mount). It wouldn't be very smart to quit playing just because there's nothing to buy, you're still making 'arena money".
