Thought I'd issue a statement for all the non-trolling, rational individuals who are genuinely curious of the reasoning behind a controversial decision.

The first legendary bow was given to Phase, a veteran hunter in our guild and the obvious choice. The second one was a bit of a toss up. Let me preface this by saying both Tums and Zzerg are competent players and valued members of the guild. They are, however, relatively new (both joined June 4, 2008, when we were already 5/8 Sunwell -- one month of that being peon status). What I think a large portion of people aren't quite understanding is that while the bow is indeed legendary, its drop rate isn't. It has the drop chance of anything else on his loot table. I made the decision knowing (unless by some ungodly act of RNG) that the other two hunters would get the bow within a reasonable amount of time and surely before the expansion so they can level without ammo. In order to achieve what we have at such a fast pace, our loot council has always had raid utility as its primary objective. Were we still wiping on a particular boss where every bit of rDPS was crucial, this would have been an obvious decision. We're not, though, and this puts us in a fairy unique position that I'm sure many of you find it difficult to relate to.

To dispel a few rumors: it wasn't based on "seniority" or any other such nonsense; I would have given it to myself were that the case. Similarly, it wasn't based on utility, for those who actually thought I gave it to Analogkid so he could stand back and deadly throw his way to victory. I have zero personal affiliation with Analogkid, so for those reaching for ammunition concerning some sort of personal bias, sorry, try again. I simply wanted to make our green hunters work for it a little more. If you find this inhumane or even "stupid" as some have suggested, well, I think the results of the way I run things speak for themselves.

Anyway, we do appreciate all the publicity; the massive outcry was giving a decent laugh on vent last night.

When rogue loot drops, do you give it to your hunters first? Knowing that it will drop later on? Nothing you can say will justify the fact you gave obvious hunter gear to a rogue. Would you give the illidan blades to a prot warrior over a dps warrior or rogue? Consider your response, why would you give the bow to a rogue, instead of a hunter?

Edit: You've gained a bit of notoriety in our WoW community. You are now known as the douchebag who looted the bow to the rogue when 2 hunters were present.

i would suggest you transfer servers now, but without a full name change on the guild and half its player- you will be laughed off every other realm as well
