Armory IMO = Fine as is at the moment. What concerns me is what may come

What if it showed alts? The armory showing someone's alts on all servers could actually pretty cool in SOME ways like to contact a friend in the game etc. But at the same time, some people like the peace and privacy of playing on an alt no one knows, when they don't feel like raiding at the time, etc.

What about showing the gold you and all alts combined have? Wow, I would love nothing more than for players to see my 20 priest (my personal bank) has over 8,000 gold on him, then harass my mains for money. Oh yeah, not good.

Not sure if this is their direction, but am hoping to at least ask Blizzard, please don't display gold. I know its technically your property but for heaven's sake that will be one huge can of worms if you show it.

And people, don't think these things wouldn’t have been thought of by Blizz if I didn’t bring them up. Just trying to preserve at least some in-game privacy.

They wouldn't show alts. THAT would be an invasion of privacy, since now you are given information of the contents of an account, minus the name. I doubt they would have a reason to implement such a feature.

I don't see the problem with displaying gold on each character, other than they need to not have an ability to have it as a search criterium. Mostly, this is to prevent aiding gold farmers and scammers from targetting people with a lot of money.

Stop worrying about the armory, already.

How sweet would it be to actually be able to find a troll's main? Wow that would be nice. But I definitely think gold would be a bad idea. The richies would definitely see a significant increase in beggers.

Yup, I've got -2k gold at the moment after deducting planned expendatures.

i've pressed many many times for the armory to be optional, doesn't appear that i have a whole lot of people on my side, so i propose this.

make the armory show the following. (includes some of the items it already shows now)

talent spec
equipped items
all items in inventory
all profession craftable items you can craft (if applicable)
all items in your bank
your reputation with any and all factions
your keys
your trained spells and abilities
[your current, (or last known if not logged into wow and playing) location in both written directions and coordinates.]
current amount of gold (all money)
all of your alts (both current and ones you've deleted in the past)


there with that level of disclosure i'm sure i could rally more people to my side for an opt out feature. :)

It's not like it will show your credit card number. This isn't a problem for honest gamers that are able to avoid lying all of the time.

And, again, it is only an issue for those who want to lie and decieve. You don't want to raid, tell them you don't want to raid. It isn't that hard. Intentionally misleading your guild into believing that you aren't on when, in fact, you ARE on IS lying. You are intentionally witholding relevant information. By definition and in a court of law, that is a lie.

Every time you load another gun, you get another trigger-happy troll. Keep 'em coming.

I think that the armory should show the contents of each player's underwear drawer.

I can't imagine blizzard adding anything to show your bag contents or the amount of gold you have.
That would make you a huge target for hacking.

Don't get me wrong, at this time I don't know of any methods for someone outside of blizzard to link a toon with an account...but really wouldn't that be a big flag of "hey i have 8000 gold and bags full of epic loot....hack me!"

maybe i'm just paranoid.

Other than bag contents and showing gold I honestly don't think I have a problem with the armory. In fact i would go as far as to say I like it.

I bet the guys at ctprofiles were pissed.
