Q u o t e: 22% chance Aftermath will go off during an Immolate.
18% chance Aftermath will go off during a Shadowflame.
36% chance of Aftermath going off when Immolate and Shadowflame are stacked.
You could only get better RNG on Aftermath if you were able to stand still and spam nukes. ;þ
Soooo... why not make it proc on the initial landing of the spell? Then bring it back to 10%.
Q u o t e:
WotLK Release: Aftermath was nerfed due to immolation ticks proc'ing it.
First Post-Wotlk Patch: Immolation Ticks no longer proc Aftermath.
That's reminiscent of the DoT coefficient nerf. Kalgan believes 'DoTs are too powerful'. So he nerfs the coefficients. DoTs are then later added to resilience, despite the coefficient nerf.
Kalgan thought 'Felguard damage is too high.' So he nerfs the damage to be on par with the Succubus. Clothies then obtain a considerable increase of AC, and become crit immune to pets via resilience. Also factor in pets no longer scale with new stats added.
First my infernal and doomguard and now aftermath? There's never a shortage of ritual of souls buffs, though. In wotlk it will have voice overs, shake the screen, and trample all over your neighbor's prize winning rose garden.
Q u o t e: It's now only 4% chance to daze the target. Why would they do this, it's been worthless for so long so they make it 2 points and now with it at 4% it will never proc.
We've looked into this and verified that the talent calculator is incorrect. Aftermath is now only a two-point talent down from a five-point talent, however the talent is actually providing a 5/10% chance to daze a target off of destruction spells, not 2/4%.
This means for two points spent in Aftermath a Warlock in Wrath of the Lich King will receive the same benefit as is received for spending five talent points in Aftermath in the current game.
We'll be making the appropriate updates to the talent calculator shortly. Thank you all for your feedback.

When does a kid ever get to sit in the yard with a stick anymore?

Q u o t e: i like how get blue posts about inaccurate tooltips and not class-wide concerns about pet scaling, dot scaling, pvp defenses, and pve/pvp utility.
This isn't a warlock-specific issue. Blues can't talk about a lot of things players would like them to talk about. That's just how it is, and if you haven't accepted it by now, it's past time for you to do so. In the meantime, try to be happy that Aftermath is a good talent in WotLK? :)
