Now people may wonder why im posting these numbers. I have a few reasons.

1. Hunter dps doesn't suck. yes, im sitting there in a perfect, non interrupted environment. But, i'm self buffed. Add in MOTW, BOK or BOM, agility pot, RAP food, Fel strength elixir, sunders, Pet DPS then hunter dps goes up a lot.

2. 31/30 build viablity. A lot of hunters have been asking if it's a good build. In my opinion, it's an amazing build. The only thing i lack, is my silencing shot :( It's a very minor dps increase to go marks (remember, compare the Long'horon stats, not the long'horon and the Skyfire stats in 31/30 and MM) and you gain the trap abilities, surefooted. What i lose, and miss is Imp AOTH and focus fire.

3. A little information about bow speeds. Most hunters should know by know, that an autoshot takes .5 seconds to fire after a steady shot. So, mathematically you would like a 2.00 bow speed. Skyfire goes down to 2.09, giving a little bit of error.

4. this is dps without my pet. A well managed pet adds a good 100 dps at least.

The reason i dislike Skyfire, is because with AOTH it's very very hard to take your steady shots w/o delaying autoshot. I thought, i should use Long'horon because the delay in autoshot gimps me. I was wrong, the dps increase in Skyfire and the Speed benefit outweighs the fact that i may be losing some autoshot timing.


Overall Comparison

MM: Lon'horon - 560dps
MM: Skyfire - 600dps

BM: Volanos' - 585 dps

Hybrid: Long'horon - 550 dps

Survival: Long'horon - 530 dps
Suvival: Skyfire - 565 dps

To follow up on this, i would like to add that 31/30 could potentially be the raiding build.

Now, im not sure if a 15% agility increase will EVER surpass 10% total RAP increase in terms of dps, because as one's agility increases, so does one's RAP.

Some people say "if i had 1000 agility, it would be better than marks"

not necessarily, because to get to 1000 agility will get you 1000 rap also, and the rap from the rest of your items.

Note: Last Kara run, i had 810 Agility in my 31/30 build. Fully buffed. The only buff i was missing, was Blessing of Kings. We had no pally.

Blessing of kings would put me at 900 agility. i'll post a screenshot soon.

Edit: i have very mediocre gear by the way, for a raiding hunter. :(

Im tempted to try the 31/30, the sad thing is that my gear is customized to max rap instead of agility, in order to make the 31/30 work Id have to change lots of gems and enchants.

Not factoring in Multi-shot at all isn't helping things here.

i can't multishot on dr boom, if yo udidn't notice all the little midget bombs running around. It skews my dps entirely.

When i use Multishot, all my trinkets and rapid fire with melmorta's twilight bow, then switch to Skyfire after it's done this is what happens:

And if you didn't notice, look how much damage i did. That's not just me taking 5 shots, critting on all of them and then saying lol 750 dps!! that's me taking hundreds of shots, over 280k damage worth.

I was on him for at least 4 minutes, because i remember i had to switch back to melmorta's twilight bow to use rapid fire again.

With a bit slower weapon, you can arcane shot every time it's up while still getting a steady shot in between every autoshot. Basically as soon as steady shot goes off, pop arcane shot, and the GCD will go a bit beyond the next autoshot, but will be up soon enough to get another steadyshot off without delaying the next autoshot. Multishot can also be used in this window (you'll basically be doing either arcane shot or multishot once every other steadyshot). The speed with which this rotation works depends partly on whether or not you have points in Imp. Arcane Shot.

i would have tried this, with arcane shot and multishot and if i was able to use my pet Kill command.

IT's what i used when i was trying out melmorta's twilight bow.

auto steady arcane auto multi auto steady kill command auto steady auto steady arcane etc.
But i wasn't able to use my pet, or Multishot because of the little bombs. and dr boom one shots my sandwich :( poor sandwich.

Yeah, for me I think a 2.70 gun/bow/crossbow would be ideal. When you pop Rapid Fire it's pretty hard to keep your weaving perfect. I know I have trouble when I use 2.60 Long'horon and Rapid Fire.

sorry it seems that armory isn't updated yet.

When it does update to my dps gear, the only things i changed when i respecced was Sonic Spear ---> Blackened spear and Bladefists breadth ---> core of ark'elos. and changed 2 +6 agility trinkets to +12 stam.

Very nice analysis. I was thinking of trying 31/30 out myself since I've always kind of geared myself towards max agi and stam instead of jumping onto the AP bandwagon.

One thing I was curious about is if you had data on your hit percentage? I'm not sure if your hit rating was the same in each test, but I was hoping to see someone confirm the effects of surefooted.

Anyway, I might try the 31/30 spec tonight if I get my sonic spear enchanted with +35 agi. I should be boosted up to over 600 unbuffed agi so we'll see how it goes =)

umm, i dunno. Surefooted helps in raids, not mucha against level 68's :P
I didn't miss once against him, buti do have about 6% hit even w/o surefooted

Nice work. Too bad without Multishot the numbers are kinda skewed. The boosts to Multishot from an MM build are not trivial, so you really gotta find a mob that will let you use that. Try Blasted Lands.
