Annoyingly I can't find the blue post about this, but last week a CM said that the LFG channel would be brought back and I was disappointed not to see it in the current patch.

It is, it will be in the next major content patch. We're also looking at some other improvements based on feedback and suggestions, but as they're not quite done we're not willing to discuss them just yet. As soon as we have new info we can release we'll let you know.

So this "next" content patch...does that really mean the next one or one sometime in the future that may or may not be the "next" patch. There is still stuff slated for "next" patch that got superseded by the BC 2.0.0 patch.

Generally patches are numbered by the 'Major.Minor.Patch.Build' designations (currently we're at 2.0.10.6448). In the case of "next major content patch" we are generally referring to a new Minor release. That may not always be the case though, which is why we tend to simply say "next major content patch".

Hi Drysc.. was wondering if you could comment on whether or not on whether we will be able to view the LFG Channel without being actively subscribed to the tool. (but must use the tool to actually post anything to the channel?)
I know originally you guys said we would have to use the tool, but I am wondering if you have any new information that you can share on this particular aspect.

I'm assuming he means an actual content patch, as opposed to the bug fix/balancing patches we've gotten since BC released. Balanced/bug fix patches are minor updates that introduce no new content and are denoted by the 3rd number in the version designation (e.g. if the next patch was one of these, it'd be 2.0.11). Content patches include all of the above but also introduce new content and/or features, and are designated by the 2nd number in the version designation (e.g. if the next patch was a content patch, it'd be 2.1.0).

I can't tell you how disappointed I am. This, for me, is absolutely game-breaking. It is worse than the raid lockout bug as far as I am concerned, since it is essentially a group-lockout bug.
I am in a small guild of co-workers and we never, ever have a static group. So all my grouping is through pickup groups, or would be. I have multiple level 70's and nothing to do at 70 because your "tool" is like a saw without a blade.

So is LFG tool being scrapped? Because bringing back the channel will do just that...along with bringing back the god awful channel that was used for anything BUT lfg half the time.
Put a GM in each servers LFG channel and suspend anyone who would talk about non LFG things in the LFG channel if you bring it back.

The LFG channel will only be available to those using the LFG tool and set to be looking for a group or looking for more. It's an addition to the LFG tool and requires its use, not as an alternative or replacement.

The Problem with the LFG Tool was that nobody used it. It would work perfectly well but there is maybe one person on the server who actually uses it.
I guess they're adding the LFG Channel back is because after awhile, people actually used it, despite that I've never found a group at all when it was in. You had to compete with at not only other groups forming but at least 40 others who decided to clutter up the channel with crap.
