I'm confused and heard different things on the boards. Does any crit break frost nova? Or does any crit from ice lance break frost nova? If they nerfed frost nova shatter is pointless now.

That's garbage. Pure garbage. I don't know where to start, so I will just...

Fire always broke nova and now any crit breaks nova. Glad it is still a 25s cooldown.

Furthermore it makes shatter less worth taking if the only way you are going to crit is going to be once every 25s.

It still amazes me to date how the Devs always respond to mages for dealing too much dmg; yet never EVER fix anything wrong with the class but continually nerf.

With how much HP people have now, how can we 2 shot people with ice lance crits? Maybe if they were under 50% health.

I can't two-shot with Ice Lance as is. How do you address the concern that, yes, Fire should have more damage potential than Frost, but Frost's damage potential may simply be too small if we can't get in two (don't worry about 3+ -- most of us agree that's edging into overpowered territory) attacks on a frozen target? I'm not saying it's the end of the world; I'm just concerned about the damage potential of non-crazily-geared mages.

so you basicly just destroyed my elementalist build... the whole point of me using this build was how unlikly Fn would break on a scorch crit (wich isnt that much dmg and has a casttime) and i would be paired with a frostmage who would get frostbite procs.. way to ruin what you tried to make good awhile back.. but the elementalists get shafted cause ignite doesnt work right AND Fn is on deminishing returns AND now i can only get 1 crit out of a nova.. the whole idea about a mage is geting your opponent in the situation you want them to be in and the more you nerf it the lesss likely we can achive this or do any dmg..

Shaman got it worse, but this sucks, although I do think icelance spam was pretty lame, a 3 second CD would have been better.... O_o

It makes shatter useless because we can just as easily cast 2 frostbolts while mobs are still novad, then just cast one frostbolt thats a crit and have frost nova break.
