I'ts possible to go a bit early on some of these spots.

Specifically, I'm thinking of Sorrow Hill in the Western Plaguelands. The guide says level 50-51, but I went in there to grind the second I dinged 48. I had so much fun in there that every single point of XP through level 48 was earned on the fallen bodies of ghouls and Skeletons. I stuck to three at a time, but long pulls (and my UI set to autoloot on click. :)

I'll be going back in there for more grinding, but that's basically to figure out how to use my shiny new captain america shield. I'm going to /dance on the corpse of my first devilsaur real soon now!

just thought i would add a couple of my own things

the murlocks in dw marsh are good for more levels than is mentioner here
there is 2 camps 1 is in the forest with all melle mobs levels 35-36. ( i came here at level 36-38)

after you are finished with these you can move down to the beach. they are anoying as they place a 2 debufs on you.
1. is a disease that ticks for some tiny amount and is managable. about 20 damage every 3 seconds.
they only apply this disease once so once it is on you there is no point removeing it as they will just reaply it however if 2 of them cast it at the same time it will stack on you so remove it until you only have 1.
2. a magic effect that slows your movement speed. not a big deal, the only real moveing you do is moveing so they are infront of you so you can block etc. you dont reall y have to move to pull mobs to you the runners will do that for you. you can judge yourself how many to pull. it obviously depends on you gear and skill, i cant tell you now you can pull 3 at level 36 4 at 37 etc...
i stayed at the beach murlocks until level 43 tossing in a few SM cath runs here and there where guildies could do it.

the other thing i have to mention is there is a black hole at level 43-46ish where there is no good pally aoe grinding spots. at this point i would advise doing quests in stv (the mastery ones from STV nesingway camp are great. fast hiting non-running mobs, perfect for us. doing all them quests grinding while you go should take you to level 44. also remember to buy the padges for the stv greeh hills quests. thats about 5k xp if i remember and you should be there questing so its not out your way.

then i basically went to the badlands and did quests and grinding. most of the quests there are good for grinding. the regent run kill coyotes, buzzards and rock elementals. you can do it as the same time as study of elements rock and sweet buzzard wings or whatever its called. also there is a quest to get 30 coyote jawbones. make sure you get hold of frost oil, patterned bronze bracers and some other engineering thing and you can turn them in for a quest at 1350xp each. also get 1 lesser invis poition and 1 healing potion to turn in that area. so thats 4k xp then you can go grind on rock elementals till 44. there is plenty and as i was grinding went up something stupid like 35 skill point in mining.

i grinded on the enraged rock elementals in SE badlands. there spawn rate isnt good but they were 250xp each per kill and there was 3 or 4 pulls of of them. while there respawning i went and gathered mining stuff but if your a skinner you could just go kill coyotes and ridge stalkers for skin.

then i went to Kargath and did all the quests from the swamp of sorrows mainly. they are like level 38 quests up for 41 so plenty of xp and all grinding quests. make sure when ure poisening the animals in the cadges you do the easy escort quest in that camp. this took me to 1/2 way through 44 and i could resist going back to badlands to grind on the rocks again aswel as mine the s**t out the zone.

at 45 i went to the slag pit in searing gorge. the zone is just about manageable for us. around the slag pit there are level 47's and up but you can just jump down and bubble so you dont have to fight through them (man i love being a pally) in the slag pit they are level 45's a couple of 46's and a few boses. avoid the boses they are elite and way to high level. there are also mobs in there that sunder try to avoid them if you cn but not a big deal if you do grab them. can grind here to level 48 or so but then the experience/hr starts to get better in another spot not listed in the main guid.

sorry i cba to look through the now 12 padges of
/bump
/sticky
/why not bumped?
/why not sticky

ffs stop asking its not going to happen and now there is 12 padges of bullsh*t before you can read anything useful. so some of this stuff may have been mentioned in all that.

i then went to a cave just inside the blasted lands comeing from stonard it is just on the left when you get in. its a cave level 46-48 running fast hitting humonoind dwarfs. lots of mining nodes, lots of cloth, lots of silver and lots of xp. anyway im level 49 now so thats the limit of my experience.

btw the guide mentions going to tanaris and grinding pirates and ogres. ogres hit to slow and there is no point dealing with the ranged pirate when ther is this cave in the blasted lands just go there while you do the pirate quest then the xp is not worth it. however im gonna go there now at 49 and kncok out all the pirate quests then move on to the thistleshrubs and grind on them while doing the quests. then get back on trach with the quide at 50. hopes this helps some people in the 40-50 gap which has a big lack of spots in the early levels. also teaming up with a healing druid keeping blessing of wisdom on ureself and judge/activatiing seal of wisdom on a mob and spamming consecrate can really burn down alot of stuff and since pally get mana for every heal they get (6% now but 10% at 70) you should have enough mana to burn down 9-10 ure own level or slightly more a level lower and vice versa a level higher.

there thorns buff is also a nice touch (you deal damage every time ure hit) about 18 at level 50.

anyway gl pally remember to never go reckoning at endgame coz you will suck. healing is good and pally tanks are even starting to emerge which work great on boss fights that spawn adds. like illhoof in karazan.

peace

Great guide. I look forward to hitting 30 and getting Blessing of Sanctuary (though I'm already baby AoE leveling).

One tip that might be useful to add: I found when fighting groups of mobs, if I needed a heal and didn't want to bubble, I wanted to be able to easily switch to Concentration Aura. So I use the following simple macro to toggle Retribution and Concentration Auras:

#showtooltip Retribution Aura

#show Retribution Aura
/castsequence Retribution Aura, Concentration Aura

The only thing with it is that when you first login with the character, you have to press it once or twice to get it synchronized properly.

Upon closa inspection, dees ah loffas!

Q u o t e:

I've actually stopped using SoL when aoe grinding unless I'm in trouble. I judge wisdom and seal of wisdom to keep my mana up. This allows me to spam consecrate and holy shield. The extra dps allows me to pull more mobs, greatly increasing my xp/hr. When I started doing this while grinding the mobs at Dalson's Tears my xp/hr went from ~60k to ~80k. After each pull I'm usually down to less than 200hp/mana but using lvl 55 water/food makes the downtime nearly non-existent.

Yea.. when I was doing the higher level yetis in feralas (the up north cave) I ended up often going SoW/JoW and just ignoring SoL for the most part. Even when alternating between SoL and SoW my mana was always going down while my hp not nearly so much. What did I put points into Ardent Defender if I am never going to drop below 35% hp? So now I just try to end fights full mana and don't worry about my hps. A quick bandage or Holy light and I am good to go again. By just running SoW I can keep holy shield up 100% of the time and stuff goes a lot faster.

Yar.

I turned prot at 32, through 35, and farmed the orcs in Arathi...but...

I'm thinking I should stay there until 37ish....the murlocs are NOT very fun when only one runs away and brings back two, and you have to remove poisons (that hit for 60, not 20, per tick, for one debuff)...it's too painful, and all the moving around.

Is there another place with no runners atleast to do this? Or am I stuck on 33-34's until I can move past?

hey guys, I got a paladin who is lvl 39 atm. I am doing prot grinding with green tower. and a 1.5 weapon speed. I got a question about which enchant to get for my flurry axe. i was thinking about getting mongoose. Anyone know if i will be upgrading it for 10-15 lvls? or should i just stick a +7dmg on it

You have learned the ancient secret of the mage forums. You can now move onto Stage 3 where you enter 'Which spec is better' threads and try and convince people of this eternal truth.

I've noticed a lot of concern about the early 40's lack of good spots to grind, so I thought I'd throw one out there that I found today and had some success with.

The venture company in the hills near the Crystalvein Mine in STV. A couple of minor notes:

1. The strip miners throw dynamite for 150-180 damage, but they only throw it once so it's really not that big a deal. Also, when you are initially gathering mobs, they tend to miss with the dynamite since you aren't standing in place.

2. When they run they tend to find adds that you don't even really see, which is nice. There's nothing I love more than a runner bringing back a friend or two.

3. The only real hinderance I found was the Tinkerers, as they are casters. However, I never saw more than one in any given spawn area, so I just burned him down and went about business as usual afterwards.

i just grind the buzzards in outland. 500 xp per kill and i can pull 5-8 safely. rested i can clock around 7k per pull and each pull only takes 2-3 min (including food and drink in between). By far the fastest grind in the game imo.
