Hey, I am a low level Paladin, just getting back into WoW after a long break. First off, I love this spec and the videos rock, it's exactly what I want to be as a Paladin. But I am having trouble with the build. Is there anyway you can post a step by step guide on when to place points where for the best results from lower to higher levels? I know it could be hard to do, but it would help me soo much!

Keep up the good work Iloveari!

For the early 40's hole try the Feral Scar Yeti cave in Feralas. It's full of melee, fast spawning 43-46 mobs that don't run.

So, I was grinding on the pirates at the cove in Tanaris when a 70 rogue comes along, rides up to me, and just stands near me. I assume he meant to help, but then he probably saw the 8 bodies on the ground in an arc in front of me and when I got done killing the last guy he mounted and left. Of course, I was at full health and mana at the end too. So then I thought to myself: "That was pretty sweet".

Thanks for this guide, I'm enjoying my pally about twice as much as when I was retribution specced.

I would def have to say that switching to prot to aoe grind was one of the smartest things I could have done with my pally....i kill things quicker and a lot more at one time...consider 6-8-even 10 undead in WPL at one time.. : )

Seconded. I shocked a warlock with 10 levels on me in this very zone with my pull four and slay madness.

Tomorrow, I ride to Tanaris and kill pirates.

Prot spec pally solo tanking = Let 'em run

Bumping, reported for sticky, and a quick question:

Just hit 50 earlier today and started WPL. Loving it, raking in the runecloth and mowing stuff down. I think I need to upgrade my weapon soon, however, and wondered if anyone had any suggestions.

I was thinking a Cold Forged Hammer (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=20648) or possibly the Fist of Stone (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17943). The former obviously sounds a lot better if I can sneak my way into a winning AV game and have access to it from 51, but I'm concerned about how slow it is.

I got the CFH at 51 thinking it would be a good replacement for my Sword of Omen. I was disappointed because of its speed. On single targets, I use the hammer but for AOE tanking I go back to the sword.

I asked for advice from a few possible ugrades in the forum and the fist ranked very high.

Be careful with leashing. Last night I was killing turtles in Hinterlands by cruising up and down the beach. I noticed that blocks/HS did not prevent leashing. The turtles aren't very tightly packed so you have to drag them for a ways. If i did not switch targets and actually whack them once in a while, they would leash.

I reverse my camera and just walk backwards into new groups so this in not a case of trying to body pull and get out of range - they are taking damage the whole time from at least block (HS).

Stumbled across this in the EU Magey forums:

TBC AoE leveling spots!

Hellfire Pennisula

Bonestripper Buzzards (53-59)
Bonestripper Vulture (57-62)
Rogue Voidwalker (58-61)
Uncontrolled Voidwalker (58-61)

Zangarmarsh

(This zone is quite tricky because you don't often have a lot of room to manouevre)

Daggerfen Assassin (61-63)
Ango'Rosh Brute (62-63)

Terokkar Forest

Shienor Talonite (58-63)
Timber Worg (59-63)
Dreadfang Lurker (59-64)
Bone Crawler (60-65)
Lost Spirit (60-65)
Boulderfist Invader (64-65)
Auchenai Warrior (might be the initiate I mean but the ones with no mana!) (64-66)

Nagrand
Most animals there are good for AOEing, watch the Talbuk's however as they have a nasty charge which can bring tears to even the most highly talented AOEers out there...

Amerailis- 70 Shadowy Priest 1259 damage bay-bee.
Kayallah- 55 Tankadin

I've been leveling as 2h ret so far and I'm looking forward to seeing how this spec pans out at 35.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladin/talents.html?000000000000000000000530503350002152015010500500000000000000000

This is what I consider the optimal level 60 grinding build. It has all the mitigation talents, besides kings. There are quite a few liberties taken in that build because its focused completely on grinding with no consideration to tanking, pvp, raiding, or anything else. If I were to do the same thing and take the same liberties for a level 70 build, I would take vindication (which truly sucks for anything else) and imp ret aura. Again I stress that this is completely in regards to AoE grinding and it loses some viability in any other light.

are links to talent calculators getting screwed up? this is showing 5/3 improved seal of the crusader in the ret tree for me :P dont know how you get 5/3, but ok :p also noticed that some of the main builds were dropping a few points out of the higher level talents on wowhead

bump. i'd report for a sticky, but i don't think blues pay attention enough to sticky stuff anymore. here's a solution. all you pallies who like to make a post about every little thing without searching the forums to see if it's already been discussed, do it somewhere other than the official forums. it'd be nice to not have to scroll through 4 pages to find a thread that was on the first page 3 hours ago. and no, im not going to bookmark every thread i like to read :P

back to the topic at hand, started doing this around 32, 2 or 3 weeks ago. im now 46 and thoroughly enjoying it. the playstyle keeps you watching the screen to respond and keep your judgements/seals up, instead of just hitting a seal and auto attacking. hell of a lot less boring than other leveling builds i've tried. now if only some of the quests im doing would give pally plate rewards so i dont have to keep getting run through dungeons or hitting the auction house every 2 or 3 days.
