I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but Angerfang Encampment in the Wetlands is a decent place to grind. There are plenty of Dragonmaw Raiders, which are melee and between the levels of 26 and 28. There are a few casters mixed in, but they don't cast a lot, most of the time they're just hitting me, stopping to cast the occasional Immolate.

I'm currently level 33, just recently respec'd to protection and bought the only 1 handed sword on the auction house (2.7 speed). I don't have a shield spike yet (or 5/5 Reckoning), so these mobs, being 4-5 levels lower than I am are pretty nice to farm money to buy a shield spike, new weapon, and get a couple more levels.

Bumping... i am brand new to pallies and this looks like a nice thread. Would be nice to get it stickied! It would be nice to see a leveling build guide as well, since the search function is down so often.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but if you are are level 61ish there are vultures outside of the temple of telehmet(?) that will provide for around three good pulls. My pally gained loads of xp here and made lots of gold. Just watch out the occasional fel reaver.

At around 66ish in Nagrand, outside Telaar, there are a bunch of birds there also although not as closely spaced but still doable. There are also packs of birds scattered around the area that are eating dead clefthooves that would make for a nice stop. Overall Nagrand aoe grinding won't give you a mountain of xp but its always a nice diversion when you are riding around.

In Terrokar there are always wolves, spiders, and lizard things. Its easy to gather 4 of them up and beat them down. The teleporting things might be a tad irritating though. There is also a large group of vultures( bone lashers?) in the Bone Wastes which makes for a good pull or two.

Just a note, some places where the casters aren't too thick can still be ground out, albeit a little slower. Grab melee mobs, then close with the caster that's going to screw up the pull. Judge crusader, then Seal of Righteousness and burn it down fast. Then grind up the melee mobs normally.

Regarding the early 40s gap... I'm finding that Wastewanders in Tanaris make for good AoEing. Shadow Mages will mess it up, but they mostly appear in clumps, so are easily enough avoided. The melee types tend to spawn in clusters of 4 or so, with patrols making for relatively easy 6-pulls. Plus, it's rep with the neutral cities.

I found this build right when I was about level 31 and thinking that slow 2 handers and seal of command made me *bored.* so I got myself a re-spec and started working on understanding how this build works.

You're right - I can pull off some *crazy* fights. I thought the craziest was The Time I Couldn't Pull Worth a Damn in the Scarlet Library - it looked like the Murloc video, only with kicking monks at level 38 - but it's been beaten. the craziest so far happened during the final Call to Arms quest, when I (lvl 40) went in with a 38 rogue and a 42 mage (no priest.) we got 2 adds - so one level 39 elite boulderfist shaman and two level 40 elite boulderfist lords, with about 78 gajillion hitpoints each.

complete panic. everybody hit different mobs, so mage and rogue went down fast. they didn't release, waiting for me to wipe...but I started with the solo style tanking. judgement of wisdom/seal of light, holy shield, and didn't bother with consecration because there was no one else there to hate. I had to bubble/heal, lay on hands, HoJ to drink a potion/bandage, and used SoJ to buy time for flash heals that just slowed the net damage, but I downed them all with a handful of hitpoints to spare. Like, 20 or so.

/flex

I think I shook with gleeful adrenaline for about ten minutes after that. Just - wow. I never played any melee class characters before, and I will never go back to squishy clothies. I'm gonna be a tin can man from now on.

Great guide! I was duo'ing with a Hunter as Holy spec and having fun. They outleveled me and are now in Outlands. I switched to this spec and I find myself amazed at the things I can do. I'll probably switch back to Holy later on again, but I recommend this for anyone who is bored with the same old thing.

Q u o t e:
Grinding Spots:
I

Level 53-54: Western Plaguelands: (Felstone Field) Undead mobs
From 54-60: Western Plaguelands: Scarlet Lumberjacks
From 52-60: East Dire Maul: Lashers
Level 54-56: "The cave in the northern part of Iron Tree Woods in Felwood. Level 54ish mobs that don't hit very hard, are bunched fairly near together, and have a chance to drop living essences which sell nice."

.

Where are the lashers in East Dire Maul? I don't know where that is.

Also, what exactly are they called? Thottbot doesn't pull up any kind of Lasher in Feralas.

Where abouts are the scarlet lumberjacks?

Hey everyone. First of all this is a great guide and im trying to use it to level. Im already 23, hate my avatar, but one thing im trying to get done but just just wont is reallly starting to bug me. I cannot find a single person on Coilfang(what the heck is the consortium?) who is able to make a shield spike. And i mean any shield spike. It seems to be really hard to get for horde since, i have been told, the best drop rate is in gnomer, but this is ridiculous. Ive been searching for a week during all the populated times and still nothing. the other posters did not have trouble with this so what should I do?

I assume the lashers referred to are here:

http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=13022

I have not gone there yet to try them. The lumberjacks are in the Western Plaguelands northeast of felstone field:

I always seem to get the level 59 that wanders though.

For those approaching Outland, I highly recommend heading to Honor Hold at level 56, and AoE grinding the buzzards just south of the keep. The mobs are 58-59, but they don't hit a prot pally very hard ;) Even at 56, I could take 3-5 at a time, with little risk of death. As an added bonus, when you kill one, others within the area smell the kill, and come to you!

The XP is awesome, though the area is a little crowded.

Now for some fun: if you get lucky, and no one else is grinding these mobs, you can start on one side of the ravine, and walk all the way around...10-15 mobs in one continuous fight. Good times, and GREAT xp, especially for 56-57 (better non-rested here than old-world rested).

Happy hunting!

Seems like the OP never comes back here, but incase he checks this i think the Yeti Cave just north of Southshore would probably be a great place to AOE grind. 100% of the mobs are melee and have no form of debuffs. This could fill in the 32-33 range for Ally as well as Horde. 1 problem is the fact that this is a very sought after place from both factions so at busy times its more of a waste of time then it is helpful (with all the ganking). But if u are on a carebear server this would be a good place all the time.
Nicely seperated mobs but rly easy to pull em together =P

NO. Don't do this. Never go here unless you are for a quest.

These guys run away, they disarm, and can execute at low hp. Terrible for AoE grinding.
