I may have missed it trying to read through all of the pages, but I'm assuming it pulls the information from your character when you log out of the client, so that may be why a lot of profiles are not showing up yet?

As for this "Real-Time" updating... yeah. Not even close. Created a character that wasn't on a single server about 5 minutes after the link to the thing was posted. Still isn't being displayed.

This is going out to the web dev team or whoever runs the web show!

First, off, absolutely fantastic job, absolutely amazing job on the Armory, its more than I had expected thats for sure. I was just expecting a static page with arena statistics, not a page with character, guild, and other profiles. So kudo's to you guys, im a web developer myself, and I know how hard a project like this is to pull together. Using AJAX to power the interface, and behind that is a massive framework of data built that I can only dream about.

My only request that could possibly enchance what you guys are doing, and the title states it all, XML Feeds of the data on the site. Dynamically generated XML that can be ported out for use on fan-sites, used in forum signatures, used in stats analysis websites, item websites, and other profile websites. So you could feed a "Live Guild Roster" via XML directly into an application on your guild website, and never have to update it by hand again. Have "Arena Team Rosters and Stats" fed directly via XML onto your blog, or even generate live signatures using PHP that read the XML to show your level, race, class, and all that crazy stuff!

The WoW dev team has always been fantastic for letting the community get there hands down and dirty in the mechanics of the game (go check out the UI/Macros forums!), and this would be an extension of this. They could have stats and profiles on their websites, instead of direct links back to blizzard as well. Allakhazam, out of all the crappy stuff they have (ie some of their banners/etc, and trojan problem a while back), had this great idea, letting XML be ported out of their site to allow the data they collected to be used in custom applicatons.

Not only would this benefit the community itself, but it would lessen the load on the WoW webservers as well. Instead of having 100% links and people clicking to goto the the same website, the load could be balanced across all of the fan sites that develop applicatoins for this sort of thing as well, lessening the burden of any one place.

So thats all i ask, is that this be passed onto the Web Dev team or atleast hinted at them. This would definately make me a happy web developer, as I could customize our guild site to feed data directly through XML and generate signatures, profiles, and everything else you could imagine, built RIGHT into our guild site.

Add me to the list of not working. Cant wait though, this was sorely needed to gauge standings.

In Safari 2.0.4 I cannot open any of the search results at all. It just comes up with the "you have encountered an error" page. It doesnt matter if I am searching for a player or a guild, the links do not work.

Doesn't work for me, i type in a guild name or character name, list shows up, but when i click on one of the names it doesn't work >.<

Add an interface checkbox like, "Enable Armory Data Collection (EDAC)"

There. Done and done. Because it obviously accesses your character.

Just make the data collection pull the basics (Name, guild, server, battlegroup, level) if it's unchecked and then gather everything if it's checked.

I'm just wondering how many people are going to be getting retarded high lag spikes from this when it goes to collect it's data.

It's a damn game. It's not like they're posting (or attempting to given the bugs at this stage) your home phone number and your social security number.

It's your anonymous internet game character's gear and information. Who cares?

It's not sensitive data, nor is it really in any legal sense your own personal private information. You do not own your gear. Your gear, stats, reputation, skills etc... consist of ultimately different patterns of 1s and 0s that are the property of Blizzard Entertainment, a division of Vivendi. I'm not going to bother reading through the Terms of Services, but I'm sure there is a clause for it. That is why the world has lawyers.

I have the feeling that you whiners will win once again however, and that they will add a privacy option, thus negating any benefit whatsoever from this application.

What about the people that dont want to be found? Hopefully there will be some restrictions. I know quite a few people who dont want it to be known where they are that lept their home servers due to harrasment issues.

Latest version of Mozilla Firefox - Armory currently not loading any profiles.
Tested on two PC's.

Also not working in Internet Explorer (latest version).

PS. I realise its Beta, but you really should test it more before release.
