With the 60% reduction in 2v2, calculations using the arena point formulas show that its better to lose 10 5v5 games then to win 10 2v2 games. Obviously bliz considers it more skillful to lose 5v5 games then win 2v2 games.

Win 10 2v2 games, averaging 15 point gain per match:

start 1500 rating + 10 games * 15 rating = 1650 rating.

Using blizz formula
If X>1500: Y = 2894/(1+259*e^(-0.0025*X))
Else: Y = 0.206*X+99

Y = 558.0 arena points
558.0 * .6 = 334.8 ~ 335

Lose 10 5v5 games, averaging 15 point lose per match:

Start 1500 rating - 10 games * 15 rating = 1350 rating

Y = 377.1 ~ 377 arena points

Conclusion: If you win 10 games in 2v2 arena, you will gain 335 arena points. If you lose 10 5v5 games, you gain 377 arena points. You are better off losing 10 5v5 games then winning 10 2v2 games. Hence you dont even need skill to get more points in 5v5 then in 2v2, you just need 4 dumb friends.

Please make the reduction 80% 90 % 100 %

Wow, that's retarded.

Does the 2v2 scale so after a certain point you'd pass the 5v5 (ie. taking into account weekly rating progression based on the 10 wins)?

Even if it does though, that's frikking retarded. At no point should you be more rewarded for losing than winning, regardless of bracket.

sad but true.

main thing is enjoying it. so many people pvp for gear turning it into just an alternative geargrind, but for people who enjoy pvp, the different brackets are great. im enjoying 2v2, and 5v5 atm. =)

Do each team points stack? like +350 points from 2v2 and +350 from 3v3 and +350 from 5v5 = 1050 in 1 week?

That seems really easy, considering those numbers are if u do really bad in arena, that means some terrible ass noob can have the gladiator weapons in like 3 weeks...

No, only the highest of the three would count. In the situation you mentioned, you would receive +350 total for the week.

2v2 takes no skill, sorry. it might be hard for you to believe but its true.
5v5 takes a ton of skill. hence the reason you get 40% more arena points for it.

umm yes the 5v5 is worth more points but you get points from all of them so the 2v2 3v3 and 5v5 points stack i dont understand why people say you only get the highest one when blizzard says you get points from all 3

I don't understand why Blizzard can't give us the same amount of points for all brackets... Some people prefer pure firepower with numbers while others just work well together in a group of 2 or 3. Just seems that it should not be always focused on the highest number of players, just turning PvP into raid instances.

I don't see the problem. 5v5 is obviously where blizzard intended people to recieve arena rewards, not 2v2.

Then why did they create the other two brackets? Why did people practice hundreds and hundreds of 2v2 or 3v3 matches only to be told at the last second that their bracket is useless?

It's simply incredible. Have you been chasing me your whole life only to fail now? I think that's the worst thing I ever heard. How marvelous.
