Q u o t e:
I want to be able to use my flying mount in Azeroth. We all do and we all pay monthly for the game. Time to get cracking Blizzard!

As much as people keep trying to convince us we need to do this there are reasons for things being the way they are. For one, Outland was created specifically with flying mounts in mind. From the ground up to the sky, we worked on the technology involved to make this happen. For another, by keeping them a part of Outland, it makes them unique to the new land and relays a sense of 'ooh and ahh' that they aren't commonplace all around Azeroth too. Also, to retro-fit Azeroth to allow for them would take a lot of time and it's time we'd much rather dedicate to moving forward towards new content than trying to rework something.

Time and resources are two things we are very careful about and as you can see from reading the forums, a lot of people believe we should be doing more with it no matter how much we actually do. We do the best we can to put out fixes and content as quickly as possible but we have a constraint we've put on ourselves as well that if we are going to put something out there, that we should do it well and with Blizzard quality in mind. This is something that will always be at the top of our list to strive for.

Q u o t e:

Because outlands is smaller and a lot more complete than Azeroth. What's easier to leave "unfinished" an entire planet, or a floating rock in a void of nothingness?

Exactly, its it could be done on Outlands. It can be done on Azeroth. So I dont see whats so unreasonable.

I dont get some of you posters, " NO I DONT WANT THE GAME TO GET BETTER!!! ITS BLASHEMY!!! HERACY I TELL YOU!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

It can be done, get over it.

Blizzard is always as been about quality, Ive been playing your games for a long time. Thus why I know flying mounts will become the norm on Azeroth. Im not saying its already scheduel but in due time it will be. You know it as well.

Fine. You go ahead and rest assured of this then. And keep it to yourself. The rest of us who aren't living in denial have moved on.

Q u o t e:
BC just came out. They are safe from doing anything new for about half a year. :p

They still haven't implemented the Black Temple, Zul'Aman, and the questline for the Netherdrake Mounts. Guilds are already finishing up Gruul's Lair and Karazhan and are already stepping into Serpentshrine Lair. If you ask me, Blizzard is behind on schedule if they really plan on implementing an expansion every year. I mean if thats true, then they have beta testing coming up for expansion #2 soon....

As much as your other reasons *sounded* good, this is the only valid one.

its a business decision. Time = Money in the real world kids. Blizz isn't about to spend ANY amount of time on something that doesn't cause their subscription rate to increase, and sustain time spent playing.

Its called the "bottom line" (you know, step three). All the devs work for step 3, regardless of their personal ideologies. CM's do to :) In fact, in the real world, we ALL work for the bottom line (even those in non profits).

So yea, before you ask for a new feature from blizzard, ask yourself this: "will blizzard make money off of it, and is my idea practical from a business standpoint". If the answer to either is no, then don't post your idea.

Yea its pretty sad. I would understand if Blizzard was operating in the Red with WoW/BC but its not. They are living very nicely in the Black.

It bugs me every time there's an incline I can't get past to get to the questgiver I need to reach, and I have to run all the damn way around a gigantic camp to find the ONE ramp that can get me up to the top.

seriously, why did you even leave azeroth as a 3-dimensional area if there are no two ways up a ramp?

I know you say you can't do it, but it would take no effort whatsoever to just make flying mounts hover a foot off the ground max in azeroth, and allow players to reach acceptable locations using those mounts.

who cares if a level 70 player can reach a certain unnamed dragon in winterspring and skip the big nasty cave that level 50-60 players have trouble getting through?

if you have unfinished zones, just boot players out of them by having a script where a dragon flies up, and punts the player into eastern plaguelands.

I cant think of a good reason not to allow flying mounts in Azeroth aside from you just dont want to assign resources to do it.

People want it, what is it going to unbalance? What is it going to trivialize that isnt already trivialized by 10 more levels?

8,000,000 subscribers * $15/month * 12 months= $1,440,000,000

Obviously it's not this much, since some people buy cheaper blocks, and I realize this is gross revenue and not net...

but couldn't any resources be dedicated towards reworking Azeroth? could be some ongoing thing, doesn' t have to be next patch :)
