idk what to pick, i love gnomes with the pink hair !!## they got goin on cuz it looks funny as hell when theyre owning !!## covered with pink hair... then again it'd be cool to be 70 as the newest race on alliance just so you stand out and arent the same old thing that everyones been for the past 2 years... so yeaaaa idk... plus draenei are a bit big, but their heal rocks and theyre kinda cool

The HoT doesn't seem to make the case. The 1% chance to hit aura seems good. I would still go gnome if I had to choose between the two.

Really? I never really felt like I needed a healing ability while leveling my mage. I guess it would be useful, but gnomes rock.

Unless you're running with other humans, being a human is by far the most useful in the arena. Also, given the number of reputations required in BC, Diplomacy is incredible as well. Just thought I'd open you up to a 3rd option. :-)

Otherwise, Gnome>Draenei IMO.

gotn is amazing, hands down, I love it. Sure, you use escape artist in pvp, but you use gotn whenever you need to heal. As a mage, a little extra life in a pinch goes a long way, and considering how it scales with our life and is effected by a good portion of our +damage and healing gear (as well as stacking with other gotn) this spell is amazing.

the aura is also great, every caster in the party will love it when they get fewer resists and partial resists, and in raids draenei can even contribute to healing by stacking hots for an asston of healing.

Think of it like this.

Gnomes:
Gives you a second way to break snares (but has a cast time), third if you're a frost mage and feel like blowing a cd
No way to heal outside of items
10% more int (this adds up at the higher levels, is especially useful for arcane mages who get damage bonuses from int)
Engineering goodies

Draenei:
Still has a way or two to break snares
+1% chance to hit for you and your whole party, stacks
A very %#*@ing powerful HoT with no tree association to get locked down and no mana cost, also stacks
10 shadow resist
gemcutting goodies
You won't be the brunt of every single WoW racial joke in existence

That's me, and my icon needs to update, I was 11 like two weeks ago...

anyway, gotn still heals me for full (if I'm down to like >1% I might have a tiny bit of health left to heal after it's done doing it's thing, but that's with zero +spell damage/healing gear)

Can't wait to see how it scales at the higher levels when I've got tons and tons of healing gear.

Plus there's the sheer amusement of being in a raid and when the tank's getting pummeled, he starts getting heals from the mages.

I went w/ draenei for the heal. I'd say the heal is most effective for mages due to their low hp - I rolled a Draenei warrior first and at lvl 49, GotN only heals about 1/5 of my hp, while at lvl 28 as mage it heals about 90% (at level 28 warrior it only healed about 33%).

But GotN is a fairly slow HoT and has a cast time so it's not game breaking. In the end, racials do not change the game all that much, it comes down to preference - i think gnomes look retarded.

Escape artist no longer has a cast time. It's instant, 1 minute cooldown.

The int bonus is 5%, not 10%.

meh, I've never played a gnome, I just listen to them talk about all their kickass pvp racials and how much they wish EA was instant

If you can stand to be a little puntable gnome, I'd say go for it. I can't stand them, so I'd have to go draeni. Gnome racials are a bit better imo, but you've got to actually like playing your character, and I just couldn't get into a gnome.

whenever possible, the answer is always gnome. the racials are great for any class they can play

the dranei heal is nice, but i dont think more vlauable than escape and the intellect buff

idn about escape artist but using gift of the narru has saved me so many times when lvling. also draenei have higher spirit. and as a bonus they arn't 2 feet tall. so all in all idn about the escape ability but for me draenei are much better than gnomes.

wait i thought the int bonus was 3% well any way that only adds up to 12 int bonus at 70 with full gladiator gear.
