Seriously, why the !%!* is daze in the game?
It has to be the most useless and annoying mechanic in ANY game.
Why does a mob have a high chance to daze you when you're running away.
God, it's so fustrating, combined with mobs on stupidly long leash's constantly chasing you, it's enough to make a person like my quit the game.

So, why is daze in the game.

Why must a mob stop you from running?
Why must they have a 99% chance to daze you when you're mounted running through?

To encourage you to pick fights that you can win, as opposed to recklessly aggroing 4 things and then expecting to survive just by running the other direction. If you don't want to get dazed, either fight less at once, or stay on the roads and fight nothing at all. Any zone without a road has significantly fewer spawns, and TBC's aggro ranges are lower than pre-expansion.

The only time Daze is worth complaining about is when stuff dazes you out of mid-air, which has to do with the wonky exploit countermeasures in the battle system.

Additionally, "Nerf X" is not acceptable, for any value of X.

What happens when i'm mounted past. I don't want to fight them. I'm not recklssly aggroing them, I just want to get past them.

There's a camp of 4. I can't kill them all. I'm going to kill 1 and run away. Rinse and repeat.

Blizz wants you to think before you fight. They want consequences for recklessness.

Better be careful. Monsters are dangerous. Nobody said traveling through hostile territory is easy and effortless.

Stray from the path at your own peril.

To stop you from being a scrub. :P

Or, more importantly, to prevent explotation of mobs by having players engaging freely with mobs with no consequence.

I've seen many folks comment on daze. In almost all cases, they are running away from mobs that are dazing them. The mechanics are no different than they have ever been. It is simply player behavior that brings the daze mechanic back in to common play. Be it land mass, spawn points or player traffic.

back in beta, you could outrun any mob without any problems, so rather than making the mobs impossible to run away from by speeding up their run speed, they made them have a chance on hit to slow you down.
it was far too easy to avoid getting killed in almost any situation.

To annoy the feck out of people.

At least as a priest it's not such a big deal. Shield, Inner Fire, Renew, and possibly Psychic Scream if necessary. I rarely get borked because of Daze, only a mild annoyance to me.

OK, a major annoyance.

You must admit though, it at least SEEMS to daze WAY more often when you are riding through an area as opposed to walking through. And the Helboars in Hellfire Peninsula, GOOD <DEITY YOU CHOOSE TO WORSHIP>!!!! They daze me, mounted or walking, with about every second or third hit, I kid you not!!

What tseric failed to say but i have tested through trials is that they lowered the aggro radius on nearly all mobs in the game Mobs 60-70 in outlands have about a 25% lower aggro radius than mobs 1-60 if you are the same level. With that said i have found that they have nearly double the chance to daze you.

You don't know how many times in Gchat you'll here people say F**K DAZED. Once you hit 70 and you get a flying mount you're pretty much never dazed again.

Personally, I 've still escaped daze chance when training mobs. Having one mob striking chance of daze is different than three mobs striking the same chance. Yes, I've been dismounted and killed, but I was completely aware that a mob of mobs was trying to proc off of my fleeing self.

the only thing that bothers me about getting the daze effect is the level 9 vampiric bat that knocks me off my epic mount and dazes me. that is just a bit out of control if you ask me. but other than that, i dont care too much about it at all.

I don't mind being dazed so much when I am actually on foot, but what really gets me is the fact that an aggressive level 2 kobold can knock me off my epic mount in a single hit.

Not that I go riding through whatever-shire the human starting place is, but the point is anything can easily daze you in one hit and knock you off your mount, regardless of level.

Except that "Dazed" is happening about 300% more in BC than it ever was in pre-BC.
