I was wondering since the changes to Thunder Clap... what are the threat values on it now?

Q u o t e:
Devastate is more threat than Sunder Armor when dealing 201 damage.

I believe this is incorrect.

The threat for Sunder is 301 and the base threat for Devastate is 101, meaning Devastate is more threat per application when Devastate does 201 threat from damage.

Accounting for Def stance and Defiance, 201 threat from damage is 138.6 damage.

Well the only good thng i find about Devastate (when i was Prot im arms now) is that it re did all of your sunders and reset its time. It did a bit of dmg which did help. But wats really good is when u get Revenge to pop up it causes a lot of aggro to come back to u. And i have 2 questions to ask maybe they have been answered but this is really my first time here.

1. Why does Taunt sometimes gets resisted i thnk that should be our only talent that Blizzard gives us that can't be resisted cause it would help a lot in the future.

2. When your in Arena or a PVP doesnt every warrior hate it when u keep getting stunned and slowed down because say (rogue and hunter) they all kno we will destroy them am i right?

No, the 201 number is absolutely correct. All of these numbers are before any kind of stance or talent multiplier.

You know, it would be good to have a small section just about starting races that we can point people to. Doing the "which race is best?" dance every day gets old.

So backing up a bit, The crushing blows can be knocked off by the use of imp. thunder clap and imp. sheild block. On the maiden in kara you should never get a crushing blow because she hits so slow. Maybe on faster hitting you may get one here or there, but basically if you keep TC on a mob and shield block you should hardly ever get a crushing blow.

I wonder why Imp Demo is never considered in the tanking builds. Doesn't it knock a LOT of damage off overall?

Your totaly correct, the only problem is do you want to take imp. demo or unbridal wrath. The other Question is, is it the OT's job to do debuffs so that the MT can put thoughts points in rage generation?

You're correct, it can make a pretty big difference. I prefer to have an OT pick it up though, as it limits your choices in the Protection tree. As for the poster above, Unbridled Wrath is virtually worthless as a raid tank. A vast majority of your rage comes from damage taken, so the additional rage from UW is minimal in comparison. Improved Heroic Strike will net you more rage gain over UW for 2 less points and you don't need to fill out Cruelty to get it.

Here's a good raid off-tank build that includes Improved Demo.

I believe that tactical mastery skill should be buffed. I find that i lose a lot of rage when i change stances. maybe instead of 5 rage pts/skill pt it should be buffed to 10rage/skill for a total of 30 rage saved.... in order to accomodate hybrid warriors eg arms/fury. I change stances all the time for pummel, intercept, and back to arms for retaliation, intercept, and normal damage intake.

I might have missed it somewhere. But I got two questisons.

I'd like your Op on Vitality Talent. Now from what i've heard this only increases off your Base HP/Str. With this being true it seems like you only gain a 130hp and maybe 13 str for 5 talent points. I know for raid tanking and heroics your going for mid/threat gen, but it seems like these points are almost better used somewhere else like iron will. Not so much direct mid points, but functionality points.

Also Improved Sunder armor. I read how how you say it's a 40% rage saving, but I never got this talent pre or post tbc. I've always opted for things that add more utility to the class. Imp Revenge/Shield bash. Why are neither of these skills ever considered while taking talents. I know the revenge stun has helped me a ton in 5 mans, and our mt in karazhan on trash.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but someone may as well do it.

Obviously, this guide is greatly focused toward the tank minded/protection spec'd warrior. Why do no guides as comprehensive as this exist for the DPS minded/fury or arms spec'd warrior?

I personally don't like the revenge stun talent. All bosses are immune to stuns, so it's worthless against them. Lots of mobs are immune to stuns in raid instances, so it's useless against them. I generate all of my rage from TAKING damage, and if my mob is stunned, im not taking damage, thus, im not generating rage, and my Threat Per Second is dropping like crazy, while the mage in my group keeps nuking away.

Improved sunder armor I do like because it means i spend 15 less rage putting my five sunders on (30 less with focused rage talent) so I can spam heroic strike while spamming my sunder armor and have some amazing threat generation.

Parry Rating has been updated to accurately reflect current conversion. I added two small "Answer to Oft-Asked Questions" and have fixed the link on the first post to actually take you to the tanking guides.

If anyone could let me know what portions of this guide are outdated (other than Hold the Line, which is severely outdated), that'd be helpful.

No, not playing, still focusing on college. Yes, forums are worth it.
