If i had to guess cider canceled his account and that caused the un-sticky similar to getting banned will cause a sticky to be un-stickied. Still it should be stuck again.
I tank, therefore I am. ~ Illyana <Unified> (Earthen Ring)
Resilience came up briefly in the thread, and the Warrior's response was "Since you're going to have 490 Def anyways, Resilience is redundant and shouldn't be picked up." That's fine for Warriors, and my own Warrior will pay attention as he itemizes, but right now I'm tanking with a Bear. I haven't been able to find this piece of information anywhere, and I'm hoping I won't get thrown out for asking:
In the guide, you explain the 490 number by attempting to pick up 5% crit reduction from a level 73 baseline. What is the actual bonus in terms of chance to crit that a level 73 mob gets against a level 70 tank? Is it simply 0.6%, as the 15 defense skill would imply?
I'm looking to push critical strikes off the combat table using Resilience for the druid, and I'm just trying to figure out the Bear goal. I'm hoping I don't have to pay for dodge-parry-block in itemization if I'm only using the dodge.
200 resiliance will do the samge job as 490 defense. For warriors def is supreme cause of the other bonuses to your stats but if you were to do it purely with resilance 200 is your majic number to wipe out crits from mobs.
Great thread, the only thing i disagree with is that block negates crits and crushing blows. I know you will never see text in your combat log that reads (blocked)(crushing) simply because that line of text does not exist, however you will still take many HITS with (xamount blocked) that are more then twice the damage of the normal hits from the same mob. The only explination for these kind of hits is that they ARE crushing blows that have been blocked.

No. I'm almost 100% sure that it is an intended mechanic that a crit or crushing blow does not occur at the same time as a block. If you think you've seen differently, perhaps some armor potion or buff wore off (devotion aura, inspiration, stoneshield pot, etc.) or the boss enraged, or the damage was otherwise intended to spike.
