I know that at one point there had been a big todo over gear matching in battlegrounds. A feature that would scan your bank and the gear that you were wearing ((there were other variables but I don't recall them)). Originally it had been meant to come out with the BC, but was then pushed to a later update.

I was trying to show my girlfriend 10-19 BG's today in order to get her interested, and basically she sort of brushed me off after I got one shotted by three times by a -insert generic name with 'twink' in it here- of <insert generic twink guildname here> Rogue with White and Purple Glowsticks and easily over 1300 HP.

I'm not trying to degrade twinks to be honest, though- whatever twinks say they prefer to play other twinks missed out as this individual bypassed every level 19 on my team and went directly for lower levels...but that is a whine for another day.

Basically, I'd just like to know if we can still expect Gear Matching in the future or if this is just something that sounded good at the time and has been quietly swept under the rug.

Bumping because, if not blue- I'd love to know if anyone has heard anything.

Yes I would also like to know if this is coming soon. It's pretty bad when your first WoW pvp experiance is wondering why you cant seem to cause at least a portion of the lvl 19 rogue healths to drop and then he comes over and within 3 hits or less your dead.

I have to agree with the OP- Not a QQ about twinks per se, because if you want to spend your time fighting other twinks, that's cool. The gear matching system was supposed to resolve that.

I think it's those of us who don't have 500 gold invested in a level 19 and new players who are interested. [I just gave my roomie one of my trial keys that came with bc. I told him to not even worry about bg's]

I hope gear matching never comes in, the best fun i get outta wow i one shotting level 11's wid my glowsticks.

I would never ever think about going into a 10-19 bg without at least 1000 hp, becaue yeah it wouldnt be fun, but hey i have 1266hp so bring it on!

And while some of you may think it's great to go and one shot ((not just 11's and you know it)), new players get turned off by this sort of thing.

Yeah I honestly don't care about Gear Matching if it means longer queue times...I never let it bother me before and always had a blast :-(

So you are suggesting that people who are leveling their characters shouldn't be able to enjoy the 10-19 or 20-29 battleground just because you define fun as 1 shotting them? Besides, I thought the twink mantra was 'Twinks want to fight other Twinks'.

You may welcome gear matching, but it may come with a steep price of very long queue times. No way to know until blizzard puts it on live, no amount of PTR will show if it will increase queue times or not.

The matching system is not absolute. There is always a possibility you will come up against people that totally out class or out gear you. Why? Because they are the only opponents available at the time.

It's been a while since i read the details but it was said that you were not gaurenteed equal level opponents. Just that it would attempt to.

I cringe at the thought of this. Will it work just as good as the LFG tool?

Seriously, this is a good idea that will likely not work. What happens at level 70 when you have Tier X gear? You never get into a BG? Basically you are going to have people sitting around in town because the BG won't pop because the system can't match gear.

I hate to say it but people that complain of twinks should QQ and level out of the bracket.
