It sounds like a lot of fun, and it sounds like a lot of work went into it. But, what are the timers going to be like after the towers are capped? My concern is that there will be too much time between attack/defend times to allow Lake Wintergrasp to be utilized to its full potential. This is an opportune time to add a serious fun injection to World PvP no matter which kind of server it is, PvE/PvP.

The Blue sources I read said that who ever takes the towers will have them for a few hours and another source I read stated, the goal for instances for WotLK shouldn't take more than one hour to complete.

Is the timer for Lake Wintergrasp going to be 6 hours like the Spirit towers in Terrokar before another go around? It sounds like the timer shouldn't last more than 2 hours max.

What if during this attack and defend you can gather tokens like Halaa that can be use to purchase Spirit Shards, or maybe even free respec tokens?

Is Lake Wintergrasp going to provide a server wide buff for which ever faction owns it during that time?

Don't go to all this work for Lake Wintergrasp to have it ruined by lengthy timers, that a player may or may not be online for.

Just posting to say that free respec tokens would keep me PvPing for several hours straight. Right now I can barely stomach 1 hour of grinding honor.

1 hour reset timer. Do it. More world PvP is better.

Q u o t e:
There will be a lot more objectives other than the tower caps, according to the notes I read there will be daily PVP objectives and quests too. So there will be more to do then own the towers hopefully.

I understand, but how many times have you logged on to find you can't cap a Spirit tower in Terrokar for the daily because you have to wait 4 hours for it to open back up?

Of course; we can't really give opinions or not since we haven't experienced the place at all yet or what benefits are gained, etc etc.

Q u o t e:
Supposedly in WotLK you should be able to have two specs. Just thought you should know.

Where in the world did you read that?

There is still much testing to be done in this regard, Dominus. While we're not ready to delve into the more specific details about objectives and time lines for succeeding in Lake Wintergrasp, I can assure you this ambitious new world PvP zone has been given some serious thought and will undergo considerable testing to ensure it's not only successful, but enjoyable.

For me, this new zone is probably the single-most exciting project with regards to Wrath of the Lich King content. :)

usually world pvp objectives/scenarios are hard to keep interesting... we'll see how it fares after the newness of it wears off

also, where have all the CMs gone the last few days? looks like Mr. Cackling Skull has been holding down the fort single-handedly.

I try to be positive and lacking cynicism... But I seriously think this is going to be another Halaa. All of the signs so far point to it.

It'd be exciting if the final reward for capping all the towers was something other than a token dropping from PvE bosses. Ah, yes, that's a great idea - have the PvP incentive be a PvE reward. Great thinking.

You failed pretty hard on this one, Blizzard.

I believe that Lake Wintergrasp will be done correctly. While every player can't be satisfied and some will hate it because they hate themselves and feel like crying about anything, ALOT of players reminisce about World PvP and are dying to have it back in the game with a purpose. Halaa was about as close as it came in BC and by the time you were level 70 most of the rewards were pointless.

I'm still not prepared...or geared... :-(
