Q u o t e:
I was flying across Netherstorm yesterday on my budget mount, being stalked by a priest on his epic mount. Eventually I was flying over the fringe islands when this asshat would dismount ahead of me to dot me up. I let him have his fun and just kept flying. So one time, he dismounts a little too soon and i watch him fail at wall walking as he slow fell to a dark mysterious death.
Thats the kind of player that dies on an island.
i lol'd...a lot

You're probably a smart and nice person, Neth, but I'm about to tear into you. I apologize in advance.

Q u o t e: We've implemented measures to prevent a forced rez at Arcatraz, so that players may reasonably access Tempest Keep without having to repair.
However, in the cases of world PvP that I see folks talking about here, we don't have any plans to make the general environment safer for combat.
PVP combat doesn't cause durability loss. Spirit rez however does. Ghosts kinda float around why not allow ghosts running back to corpse to fly like flying mounts. if you want it to remain an inconvience make it so you go slower when flying as a ghost kinda like when swimming.

Q u o t e:
There is a very simple solution to the issue of dieing on an island. Just treat an island like the void and place the corps at the point of the connected world closest to the position where they dies in the same zone. You jump off the side of the world you body is at the edge of it when you come back. If you die on an island just place the corps on the point of connected ground closest to the point of death.

Preposterous, this makes entirely too much sense. It will never happen.
Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it.

How about this place a GONZO cannon somewhere on the map for the continent probably on the far side from the graveyard. and whens the ghosts use the cannon they get blasted into the air like the late doctor and are placed at their corpse.

Woot, glad I am on a pvp server. When I get 70, I will make sure to grief the hell out of alliance on floating islands so they have to spend gold on repairs. I can see this being the new version of "territory" where uber guilds just camp the entrance to instances on islands knowing that people will have to pay gold for messing with their "turf."

Pardon me if I'm wrong:
But aren't there certain quests and fights that take place on inaccessible islands (only accessible by flying?) Unless these places have their own personal GY, not sure how you would get back.

Q u o t e:
You don't know how to fly in life, why would you suddenly know how to in death?
Why can't shamans ghost wolf in death?

You are correct. I neglected to mention before that specific cases such as these could be under review, but I know of no sweeping change to make any and all remote islands 'safer'. The change to Arcatraz which gives a free rez may or may not be applied to other specific cases such as Mechanar. Possible that it could be applied more generally, but I am less sure of that than I am of reviewing specific cases. Going to be inquiring more about this today.
