Compatible? More than likely not, but if you find the right group of drivers it should run inside it. You just have to realize that you will not be in the recognized environment, which means limited support.

Hi Annanecrus,
I run the game daily on my home system with Windows Vista RC2 x64 installed. Your mileage may vary depending on your hardware and its driver support.

I think he might be referring to massive screen tearing. I also encounter this problem under Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium. I'm fortunate I left XP installed on a second partition, or I would not be able to play at all. FYI, Windows Vista Home Preimum 32-bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600TD (driver version 100.65, just testing 101.40 now), ASUS P4S800-MX motherboard with 768MB DDR333 RAM, not using offboard sound.

I had the exact same error message when I tried to install WoW on my new computer yesterday. After reading several of the same problems, I decided not to keep trying to uninstall or reinstall the game, but luckily had copied the World of Warcraft folder onto a hardrive, then burned it onto a DVD from a different computer, and then copied the folder onto my new computer, and it worked.

I "fixed" this problem by rebooting the computer after the first patch download so that the .tmp file would be deleted (for some reason it didn't automatically delete itself). The second patch then went OK. Ever since I used an Image disk to configure my HD back to its original state and re-installing WoW and TBC, the patches worked fine automatically.

I had problems with texture map tearing on my XP system to the point that the game was unplayable. Turned out to be a bad main CPU. That was an expensive fix.
