I'm am in NO way trying to stick up for the afk leech people in the cave and whatnot, but do people really want people in the game actually trying to win making the AV games take the time they used to? I mean, they were easily all 2+ hour games and all that mindless killing is no fun after awhile.

I'm sure it's just the fact that people that are afk are in fact, leeching off of others work, but if it was like it used to be, then people would just !#%!* about how the map is unfair and whatnot.....

AV is easily the worst bg in the game and I just don't understand why people want this big, long, crappy, bg played "How it should be."

Sorry kind sir, but logic isn't allowed in this section of the forums.

Please rephrase this in the form of:

Q u o t e:
I stopped caring about AV when it became obvious that Blizzard didn't care. The afkaving used to bug me. the map imbalance used to bug me and the exploits used to buig me.

Now? meh.. if the developers don't care why should I?

AV can easily be the best honor grind if people could and would actually play it.

Why do I love AV? Because it's the CLOSEST to world pvp I can find in this game.

Join the Emberstorm Battlegroup if you want a challenge. Horde wins 90% of AVs, most of them in under 15 minutes. Doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for, though.

Q u o t e:
Some people like going into PVP situations when a PVP situation will actually occur in the situation.
Then they need to stop going into AV.

20 min in the cave and 7 min playing. I top the KB charts.

Q u o t e:
i dont understand what the problem is Alliance win a AV like in 10 minutes .
Horde are the afkers because if u win 2 bgs all day long but then the one that really counts for some good honor comes along and you just suck at it why not afk in a cave becuz the alliance will own you buttocks in 10 mins and it will be over ...

my solution to the problem remove your filthy guards and well come in and just farmyour afk butts
Actually that would generate more honor for the people in the cave as we would be killing you then.

There's plenty of smaller, quicker PvP encounters. All of the other battlegrounds, and certainly the arenas. The idea of large scale battles really appeals to a lot of people. That may not be everyone, but it's definitely something I think most people would like to be involved in from time to time. It's something we like, and want to incorporate in new ways into the game. We obviously made some changes to Alterac Valley that made it a much shorter affair though. While we like the epic feel of a large-scale battle, having it turn into an 18 hour stalemate really isn't that rewarding for each player. That said, we're certainly aware of the issues that affect the battleground as it stands now and are working towards solutions, but we're not discussing what those are just yet.

Their system of oppression, what did it lead to? Global robot depression.

I think people who never played it back in the old days don't have anything to miss but those of us that did have some fond memories which make us miss what AV used to be about. Now, AV has always had issues of some type and basically people !*!@%ed and !*!@%ed and it was changed repeatedly to get to where it is now as a result of all the whining. And it's just depressing to see something that used to be fun on a grand scale become this lame AFK honor farm.

My fond memories: Back before there were battlegroups, we used to have a guy back on Suramar who would organize a horde AV game every Sunday, complete with vent. And we would just roll forwards taking each objective and letting no one pass, guarding all the chokepoints as we went. It would usually take about 3 hrs and by the end we'd have used several waves of reavers and the rock lord to bust through the 40 alliance who had been backed into their base. Alliance were just totally screwed in that game although I'm sure some liked the challenge.
