I don't know the why and when of when the rep changes went through (I took a pre-BC break), but it's pretty ridiculous that cross-racial rep is this easy to get now. It was one of the few things that actually took real work in the game that you didn't just naturally get to on your own. Now Exalted takes no real sacrifice or work or anything meaningful to accomplish.
Why was this done, and is there any chance it will be set back to the old way of dropping rep based on quest difficulty vs. player level? Or did the whiners just need something else handed to them on a silver platter? :(

what exactly are you talking about? the ones in the noob zones that give lvl 10 greens at exalted or the end games ones which give the gear required to do the top end instances?
imagine if you needed your whole raid at revered with the brood to even enter aq lol

Q u o t e: For the love of god /WoWquit again and go away. Not everyone has no life and wants to devote 8 hours + a day to this game.
Actually, I'm a very casual player and that's why I loved how hard it was to get. It took me months to get my undead horse and I was looking forward to a real goal with my Draenei as well that was attainable in short chunks (in this case, egtting a ram).
You're right, not everyone has no life, and we like having a challenge too.

What an odd complaint. Well it was changed so that a player leveling from 1-70 didn't really need to stop and work on a specific city reputation. With the expansion and the higher level cap there's really no reason to make those reputations a goal to work towards, the process would have been trivialized by the expansion itself anyway. If not by runecloth drops then by sheer monetary gain and level/power increase. Obviously that's not true for all of the reputations in Azeroth though.

So what happens if they add new races and existing level cap players start at 100/3000 neutral? Forget about it. The developers didn't know what to do with city rep from the very beginning and this latest change probably signals that they're not planning on making exalted do anything special.

Reputation grinding sucks. Granted I see your point that this was optional rep that you could do to get something unique an show off an now its trivialized.

Q u o t e: After the CC grind, there is no such thing as rep that is "too easy." They're all just time sinks.
The definition of 'too easy rep grind' would have to be hitting exalted before level 60 without actually grinding anything, only quests that you do for leveling anyway.
Q u o t e: Bonfire Damage's Bonfire Damage hits you for 26 fire damage.

I freaking hate grinding of any sort. Rep is the very least fun aspect of the game, followed closely by farming materials. I just don't understand people that want rep to be even more annoying.

Then let me ask you this . . . if it's that trivial, why keep the city rep at all? Why not just put Elekk vendors in Elwynn for all it's worth now?
I have to disagree that it would be trivial in and of itself, because sure, you'll be swimming in gold and rep by 65-70, but it really was quite a rush being 50 and riding another race's mount. I know it might sound like a minor thing from a developer's standpoint, but that was a major sideline goal for some folks that was nullified just because of what it would be like at higher levels, especially those of us who assigned ourselves challenges like that because trying to get a fancy mount from an instance just isn't reasonable; you took away one of the few ways we had to show off.
If it won't be changed back, I hope you guys consider putting in another time-grind or incremental major goal for folks to work on.
