Well he swears he never used anything with wow. Im wondering if blizzard can help me with what they found was identifying my accounts as a third party user.

Im gonna have to say he didnt knowingly install something into his computer. Would a third party program show up in his addons folders ? He does have a couple of folders there I dont have on my computer.

They will not go into any specifics whatsoever. Doing so is liable to allow teh creators of botting software to bypass Blizzards methods of detection.

You're welcome to email account administration regarding the matter though.
They may take another look into the situation.

Botting ? My ban says third party software. A botting program he cant install. Im on his account and just went to download IE addon and it wont let me so he's cool there.

Man I wish there was a way on wow's forums you could scan your computer to see if its compatible with there TOC before you start game play. Kinda like they have for video card and stuff that would be nice for someone in my situation. After all you could log into someones computer not at your house and not knowing you just got yourself banned.

This scan for software should block access to WOW before game play. Hey blizzard if you start doing that I want paid royalties ok .

The report that the game sends back to Blizz contains information about your computer's hardware and some basic settings, the settings of the game, the name of each and every AddOn, PLUS the names of any identifiable nasty programs it finds. ThHe nasties are separate from the AddOns.

The third party stuff could be anywhere on the hard drive, even inside a hidden folder, heck even on one of those USB thumb drives that only gets attached occasionally... or an iPod that gets plugged in once a month for updates while playing WoW.. or... yeah, lots of places.

Fooked, should you decide to do a complete reformat and fresh install, might I suggest buying a new hard drive to use instead of just reformatting the current drive. If you do not carefully backup the data you have on the current drive (email, photos, documents, etc), a reformat will cause you to loose ALL of them. If you put in a new drive, format it and do a fresh install to it, then you can set up the second drive as a temporary slave in order to retrieve your data. Perform a fresh install of your anti-virus program, copy only the data you know to be clean - email, photos, documents, etc, and do a virus scan on them to ensure they are also clean. Once done, don't copy any WoW data - do a fresh install for both yourself and your son. Any mods that you download in the future should also be virus scanned PRIOR to installation, just to be as sure as possible they are not carrying hidden trojans or keyloggers.

I only know of one friend of his that plays wow but he is even younger, his max level toon is 22 after like six months still so I dont think he is involved. Ive been looking at other complaints of being banned I do have a N52 speed pad but those do nothing to enhance the game play in anyway as in there TOC. It loads with wow with a exe.file

Firewalls do NOT protect you from viruses in any way shape or form. They CAN protect you from "worms" (I won't go into the technical details, they are similar to viruses in function but are "installed" by exploiting services running on your PC via the internet), as worms do come in via the internet, and thus a firewall could theoretically stop the intrusion attempt. But all the firewalls in the world will have zero effect if you use IE and go to a website that installs malware. It will just happily install whether the user has admin or not, often silently in the background without anyone being aware.

It sounds like you're infected with malware, probably a lot of malware from the sound of it, and yes this could trigger a ban if Warden picks up on some of it. I wouldn't be surprised if you've got a keylogger or two in there too.

I would seriously recommend that you get Ad-aware (free version): http://lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php

and AVG antivirus (free version): http://free.grisoft.com/

These will at least help determine how much malware is on your PC. Of course the only 100% sure way to remove malware is to format/reinstall, but these two programs together should do a decent job at getting most of it (if not all of it). No guarantees of course, but better than nothing. Then if they do find something you can email account administration and tell them that your PC was loaded with viruses, then they may reinvestigate your ban.

AA's wait time right now is about a week due to the ban wave. The GM's here can't do anything but provide information, they can't reduce your wait time with AA. Emails are answered first come, first serve.

I think a new hard drive is in order here. I will do the scan and save a file for blizz but I dont think they are gonna take there time with 500k bans they are gonna spam mail sorry your account is not able to be opened due to third party software.

I guess im gonna go buy another CD key and start on another server, Im not gonna be able to look at all my friends going to ZA , SSC without me. It took me 6 months just to get to level 70 I work 65hrs + a week and have no time to level now. I was recovering from a broken back when I leveled my mage . I couldnt do it fast enough everyone in my guild is on tier 5 now im screwed.

they are way too busy reading all the emails and faxes coming in.

i should add: and investigating the Logs, and replying to the emails, etc, etc....

eerr I dont know what AA does but I do see GM responses and with the mass bannings going maybe just maybe they might come here to help in there follow ups on bans . IDK but im not gonna give up just yet.
