Very well written and documented bug report. I would sticky/blue post this one if i could. I see it's broken on the allince side too, but not to as much of an extent. I can confirm that my farsight does not work with this exploit and your range is about right

There has to be some trick to it, I tested it out and I cant cap anything at range, whereas my friend (UD mage) can cap any flag at a range of about 30 yards.

All of the Horde I have spoken with knew of these exploits BEFORE I researched them. Don't get your panties in a knot over a few more losses, we already know Blizzard is working on a hotfix for it.

Edit: Also, now all of the Alliance know specific areas commonly abused, so you know what to watch for. I helped you, too, you know.

Honestly, horde side games don't go without someone shouting "Range capping FTW" this isn't something that people are unaware of, horde players learn right quick when their teamates yell it across BG chat.

So don't go yelling at someone who is trying to make it easier for the devs to figure the bug out. And as Lash said, it now lets all the alliance players know just how far and what to watch out for.

Its great that this got documented so well, it'll hopefully help the devs lock down just what went wrong so much faster.

Great documentation. I wasn't aware that Alliance could do it, but it's good to show the bug. It's extremely frustrating trying to play AVs.

I have also seen this done in AB. Yesterday I observed a tauren druid cap Stables from under the porch. The worst part about it is I was shooting him and he could not be interupted.

I hope Blue responds to this quickly. I know it's been only a couple of days, but this bug is disrupting the only aspect left of the game for those who enjoy PvP.

Sorry Alliance can do it, contradictory of my original statement, however, than range is much, much less. And this is also exploitable in AB. Not sure about WSG flag picking.

I didn't even know it was an issue until I read this post. I think your a little over exaggerating that statement. But beyond this bug/exploit, there are many other things wrong with AV, and if I was you, I would stop crying before they really fix AV, because atm it's heavily in favor of the alliance.

ROFL.

It was a bug with the last patch, so how long you've been playing means nothing. You guys can cap our aid station within the first 5 minutes of the game now and WE have an advantage? You guys can solo pull vandar, range cap, etc etc what else could you possibly want?

Perhaps it is just my battle group, but in perhaps 8 of 10 games today, as soon as I entered people were screaming their delight for ranged caps - some even had macros to spam that explained the bug.

Wow Lash, I'm impressed. That was very well written and a lot of evidence provided. The only thing I'm really gonna miss when the fix comes, is the longer queues for AV again. Since this lil exploit, the horde have been swarming to AV, and I can't say I blame them much. But going from a 30-45 minute queue for AV to a 2-3 minute queue for AV... I'm rather partial to the short time it takes to get in. Once again though, Kudos Lash. Best Bug Report I've seen on the issue so far.

Yes please fix it! Heh I have personally used this first time was on accident second time was cause I thought it was cool and that was it. This bug has a HUGE range for horde. I could cap First Aid station from where the bounty hunters are and can cap SP GY from behind it on the hill and no one would know whats going on!

I get this feeling this won't be fixed for another couple weeks just like all pvp-related exploits. I just wish it could be use to exploit pve in some way so itd be fixed overnight.

I first heard about this xploit in AV.. and discovered how much it disrupted the flow of the game for Alliance..
I witnessed RHGY getting capped without any horde near it.. we couldnt even find where he was.. our Offense were dying and resing back in SFGY as Horde had also capped FWGY and IBGY avoiding the guards who were around it by xploiting this bug.. our guards were still around the flags they capped.. it was very odd..

Meanwhile they had progressed to Aid station with very little resistance as the bug allowed them to cap our flag out of view of Alliance Defenders.. Your post covered all the things I saw.. it was very straightforward and simply put.. without any of the drama or angst of previous threads..

Its very frustrating... and even though many threads have been posted about this xploit.. we have yet to have a sticky .. or update on when this issue will be addressed.. Im hoping this thread becomes Official..

Even though most of the complaints come from AV.. I have witnessed this in AB.. as others have mentioned.. the distance isnt as great.. and both sides can xploit it..

I was defending mines .. when 3 horde came... they used this xploit... (which they didnt need to use) I tried it out on stables and it worked... I tried to use it again in another match but got killed :P ..

Blizz were quick to change the snowball griefing in AV.. Im hoping they will be as efficient with this latest bug....

Can someone give us more updates.. so the rabid masses of dissatisfied alliance wont come zerg your complaints department with more AV Flag Xploit AOE rage attacks..

THORIUM BROTHERHOOD FTW!!!!

This bug/exploit is really making AV terribly unbalanced, surely you can see from the amount of posts in these forums that many people, from both Horde and Alliance are agreeing that this is a problem, the very least that could be done would be for a blue to acknowledge the problem and perhaps give the paying customer a little satisfaction for their dollar. Is it really so much to ask for you at Blizzard to fix a problem that you yourselves have created during a patch?
