I looked it and have been wondering if indeed using such a "repeater" is in any way a violation of the ToS.

Yes. Don't use it.

Well as much as I'd like to just leave it at that could you cite some place with blue text where it says it's not allowed? Sure seems like this is the exact same functionality as say a G15 keyboard just in software.

And you can get banned for using the G15 that way.

EDIT: More info on the G15

Yeah, that's definitely a violation of our policies.

Basically, anything that circumvents our normal Macro rules, and automates successive key strokes is not okay. Basically, a cast sequence macro is fine, as each function requires a key stroke.

Something like this? Never okay, as a single press creates many keystrokes in succession in addition to several other prohibited functions (pauses in hardware functions, for example).

Ok, here is the thing. What is described in the cited posts is what can happen with a G15 sequencing actions. And I quote:

Q u o t e:
Do not use them to automate game play in any fashion.
Do not use them so that a single macro press results in multiple actions.
Do not use them to insert time delays between hardware functions. For example, making a macro that causes your character cast a spell, delay one second, then cast another spell would be unacceptable.

All of those refer to the idea of automation. What I'm asking about is being able to hold down a key that then repeats.

And here is what I came up with:

Q u o t e:
This macro is designed to be spammed furiously. If you're not hitting it about 20 times per second (maybe a little overkill) then you're losing DPS because you're not getting your Steady Shot to fire as quickly after an Auto Shot.

"But Strain my fingers are broken and I have Carpal Tunnel and I am lazy...."
Dont worry, we're all lazy and honestly 20 times per second isn't humanly possible. I recommend one of the following or at least binding your macro to your scroll wheel (Google any of these for more information):

n52 Gamepad - about $30, well designed and a good deal
g15 Keyboard - between $50 & $80, a bit pricy but if you're a hardcore gamer (i.e. spend about 5+ hours a day playing games) it's worth it
AutoHotKey - free and its not against the ToU as long as you're holding down the key that you want repeated and the key that you're holding down isnt activating other keys. I've already asked about this for those of you who are skeptical.

Comes from: http://www.tkasomething.com/steady.php

I've got a Hunter too so this would be even better for him but the same goes for my Mage here. A good 90% of the time I'm spamming Frost Bolt. Over and over and over and over... It would save my keyboard and fingers/wrists a lot of strain if I could just hold down the key instead.

Now if it's against the ToS that's fine. I'll continue to mash on my keyboard, but since what I'm asking about is not automation it does not seem to be clearly answered in the posts you cite.
