Thanks everyone for your patience as we shifted things around a bit. Just a quick run-down of changes we made:

Aside from the "crucial" forums such as Customer Service and Tech Support, everything that isn't in a sub-category has been alphabetized. "Non-critical" forums such as SCII and WotLK forums are left at the bottom.

The Guild Recruitment forum has been split into an Alliance and Horde variation, I would fully expect traffic to increase substantially for a bit while people rush to get their ads up, but it should slow back down after a while.

There's a new "Gameplay Discussion" subsection which now houses the Dungeon & Raid, PvP, Professions, and Quest forums. Possibilities exist for other forums to be added to this subsection in the future, but for now we think its pretty solid.

The drop down menu (the thing in the upper left of every forum) reflects all of these changes, and should hopefully provide a clearer and more logical separation.

In addition, the "WoW" prefix has been removed from all forums as everyone should already be aware they're looking through forums related to World of Warcraft.

We now hope we never have to change them ever again. Thanks again, and happy foruming!

Drysc, I don't want to imply that I'm the only person who ever reads sticky posts or anything, but the Guild Relations "welcome!" sticky post doesn't really work for Guild Recruitment forums. ;)

The part that I hate is the fact that if you go into one of the new forums that's in a subcategory (say D&R), you can't get to the class forums without going back out into the 'index' because the nav drop down list only contains the forums that are in the current subcategory. I brows the paladin forums, the D&R forums and General pretty often and to get to those three you've added 2 additional clicks. /annoying.

My addendum to Drysc's edit:
I apologize if it seemed harsh. I certainly didn't intend to come off as so caustic as to merit an admin. But I did read the information in the thread, and I didn't see my issue addressed. When you're on the General forum you have access to all the other forums from the pulldown. But once you get into the other forums you only seem to have access to forums that are within the same group.

Did I miss something? Go ahead and point it out. I'll enjoy the taste of crow if it's there and I missed it.

Extra edit: BTW, I *do* like the organization of the new dropdown as implemented in General. Sorry I didn't originally say that.

Good to hear - I tend to hop around between the General, Hunter Discussion and Bug Report forums, and it was somewhat irritating to lose the direct jump from Hunter Discussion to the other two when the class forums became their own subcategory (that actually happened a couple of weeks ago, before the big forum rearrangement).

Yea... When you are in any of the class forums, you do not get any other forums in the forum list. You have to click out into the main forum list to get back to General, pvp, wotlk forums, etc.

Its kind of annoying.

I wish there was a more elegant means of navigating the forums from the forum nav drop down.

When you enter a particular nook of the forums and try to use the drop down, you're forced to return to a seperate page to access a different part of the forums.

Rarely, for instance, do I spend a lot of time looking at each class forum, then each gameplay forum, etc. Instead, I normally bounce around (aka D&R, Mage, General, Bug, Suggestion). This requires going back to the forum index each time. How is that more elegant? It would be nice if you could include access to these on each forum page, so as to reduce the amount of redirection between forums. Namely, why not just have several forum navigaiton menus for each nook of the forums?

I dislike the forum reorganization. Besides needing more button clicks to get to where I want to go to begin with, the drop-down tab doesn't allow me to connect from one group of forums to another, requiring me to go back to the main forum page and going to the other forum group from there.

I used to always go from the Warlock Forums to the RnD, General, and PvP forums and vice versa using the drop-down tab. That is no longer an option for me and it's just an inconvenience.
