I've never been a fan of pessimism. I'm more of a realistic optimist myself, meaning that I'm generally optimistic but try to stay down-to-earth about things.

Because I enjoy my characters and want to expand them a further ten levels. I have no desire to start from scratch. New leveling content is new. Sure, it's the same style as the old leveling content, but it's new words, new graphics, new abilities to go with it.

Saying what you're saying is like… I've read Lord of the Rings, why would I want to read any more fantasy books?

I like WoW, and what I want and expect out of a WoW expansion is more WoW.

Story.
Exploration.
Playing with new abilities.
Finding cool stuff in-game with my RL friends.
And yes, leveling.

It's all about the journey, not the destination. Try not thotbotting every quest (i.e. actually reading them) and you might understand.

Which is scary enough considering Sunwell was the last proposed raid instance. I'll optimistically guess December.

Yes, it would. If I spent $30 on an expansion to an existing game, I would expect that expansion not to fundamentally change the game. If it did, I would most likely be extraordinarily upset. Why do you not understand this simple concept: if I want a different game, I buy a different game. If I want more of the same, I buy an expansion for a game I already have.

As for wanting an expansion to bring something fundamentally new to the game… ask Star Wars Galaxy players how well that worked out.

Oh, I think there will be a proposed date around the end of November to ramp up pre-orders for a Christmas gift purchase. Something will probably happen, just like with TBC, that will push it back past Christmas time. Likely so WoW will not compete with any other Christmas game titles.

Except the cat isn't done, and it might be nothing like what the real cat will be like. Based on the vitriol on these forums, if I was Blizzard I would be harsh about cencoring talk about content and concepts they don't feel they are ready to talk about yet.

Heck, even in the thread which the OP started as a way to say how excited he was just based on a trailer showing scenery, the first two replys are QQ about how their are being denied instant gratification because Blizzard doesn't release nearly enough expansions.

In the face of the level of QQ that occurs on these forums I can very well see why they wouldn't want to hear it about unannouced incomplete content that has been leaked.
