With the launch of WotLK we know that there will be a massive influx of DK characters across the board. We all know that not everyone will play them but that there are going to be A LOT of them.
This is drastically different then BC with Paladins and Shamans on opposite factions for many reasons. Starting at level 1 was a road block for many, especially with the old leveling experience. Secondly, many had played the 2 classes on the opposite faction already. I know I did and knew that I didnt like Shamans after playing one on the horde side.
Obviously other classes will get cool abilities but I just forsee the LFG channel being spammed like the original days of rogues when the game launched.

Wish you guys implemented a caster Hero also.
And the Deathknights will start in their special area at level 55 while you are off to Northrend at 70. The gap will keep the two apart for awhile but we do expect people to try out and the class and have fun with it.

If you want to level a healer from 55-80, I'd suggest waiting till wotlk, cause you know there's gunna be a a bazillion tanks and dps on the way (at least untill people get sick of tanking with them, which probably won't be till after they hit 80) :D

do you level from 55-70 in "special" area or do you do 55-60ish in "DeathKnightVille" and then hit outland?

deathknight is the only class that you can make on ANY server and have an instant lvl55 instead of a level 1. That alone will keep them over-represented forever.

It'll be just like the Blood Elves and Draenei last time. Everyone will make one and for the first couple weeks, the starting area will be flooded with them and probably crash a couple times but as time goes on people will stick back to their mains or whatever and things will go back to normal.

are you seriously suggesting Blizzard might be desigining an alternate zone where you can level 60-70 without stepping foot in outlands? what is wrong with you?

Given the complexity of the Death Knight resource system, as well as the sheer number of choices available for setup (talents, rune outload, presence selection, weapon choice -- 2hd vs dual wield) I am betting that many players will actually be put off of the class after trying it out for a bit.
It's the same reason that you don't see many Shaman and Paladins as compared to the rest of the population, even across their native factions. They both have such a large variety of abilities, and their talent specs so dramtically change their playstyle, that a lot of people just don't enjoy them. Druids and Warlocks actually fall into this category, and despite all the negative publicity they have received for their 2v2 Arena performance, still remain a very low population class.
In comparison, Warriors, Rogues, Hunters, Mages, and Priests are very straightforward classes with polarizing talent trees that don't dramatically change the playstyle of the class as much as the primary abilities that you most commonly use. They are very popular classes with a high percentage of the player base. This is not to say that they are "easier" to play, but they do have less of an initial learning curve and considerably fewer active abilities to manage in combat. In other words, they are less complex.
I think the complexity that Blizzard is aiming for with the Death Knight might act as its own population control, though not initially.

I'd more like to ask what is wrong with you trying to belittle someone asking a simple question.

True...... but hitting 70 wasn't exactly a long-term process in TBC. There were several within a few days. Within 2 weeks they were everywhere.
Marooning them in their own sandbox for a couple levels isn't going to slow down DK progression much - I imagine they'll be like hunters shortly after TBC came out. Group searches usually involved 1 tank, 1 healer, 1-2 locks, 1 mage, 1 rogue, and 27 hunters....
Personally? I might make one to plunk around with as an alt. I really don't want to sacrifice a 55+ toon that I have currently (hunter, lock, warrior, rogue) - so I guess I'm gonna have to dust off a neglected alt to turn into one.
Gonna be REAL interesting to see what happens with them in the 1st few months. They'll either be grossly OP to the point everyone runs off to make one - followed by a giganto-nerf that sets off howls of protest and a mass-abandonment of DKs. Or they'll be "meh" and boring - pulled out of storage when a group needs a tank or something.
