I'm having great difficulty seeing the hand/pointing finger icon during graphically busy fights. Is there any way I can change the color or the brightness of the pointer icon so it contrasts much more versus the surrounding graphics on screen?

I have my graphics set so it's pretty vivid and colorful as it is to compensate for my crappy eye sight, and I don't have a problem with this when I'm out soloing around or in 5 mans when there aren't a lot of people standing around or AOE going on, it's just when the screen is real busy. During those times I can't find where my pointer is at and end up losing people because I can't click on the raid box to heal them.

If there is some way to make the thing stand out better I can find it faster and all will be well. HALP! please.

I has me a pirate bunneh!

Hello Nethermind,

Unfortunately there is no default option for such a feature; however, there may be an AddOn that can adjust this. I would encourage you to post in our UI & Macros Forum at the link below to inquire about this.

This question has come up before, but I dont remember the answer offhand.

While it's not easy (possible?) to replace the in-world cursor, it is very possible to have a brightly colored visible indicator follow it around to give the effect of a different cursor.

i'm not aware of any specific "high contrast" or "big" cursors, but you can modify the cursor by creating the path/file

World of Warcraft/Interface/Cursor/Point.blp

note: *not* /interface/addons/...

http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/10797/

has some samples

I wrote an addon a while back for a player who was partially blind.

http://cyberartist.shackspace.com/wow/CursorGlow.1.3.20400.zip

Adds a big glowing circle around your cursor. Shows up when you hold down CTRL or move the mouse.

http://www.wowwiki.com - your answer is there, trust me

Thank you soooo much. This is exactly what I've been looking for. I didn't want a huge cursor....just something to let me know where the dang thing was when everything started flashing all over my screen during a fight. Excellent job!

Also, something I use because I have an eye problem, scar tissue on my left pupil, under vista options, I think under control panel, you can set it up to when you press Ctrl, it makes a circle flash around the mouse icon or pointer.

Good luck

This old post seems relevant since people can't override the pointer graphics anymore since 3.1. One thing you could try is using a cursor trail to follow your mouse around; The addon _Cursor at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10531-_Cursor.html works well and is quite configurable.
