ATTENTION
The functionality of most of the old macros has been removed. It is no longer possible to cast spells based on a unit's buffs, debuffs, health, mana, or distance. There is also no way of knowing if a spell is on cooldown. If you attempt to cast multiple spells in a macro that activate the global cooldown while one of those spells is on cooldown, all spells after that will not be cast. This is known as a fall-through macro and its functionality has also been removed. Even with these changes, some cool and useful macros can still be created. Enjoy!

/equip [noequipped:Crossbow] Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting
/script PickupInventoryItem(18) PutItemInBackpack()
·Change the weapon type and weapon name to match your character.

Use Bandage On Target Or Self

/cast [button:4] Aspect of the Cheetah
·By default, using a keybind counts as mouse button 1 (left click).

Cancel Cheetah Without Waiting For Cooldown
/cancelaura Aspect of the Cheetah
/cast Aspect of the Cheetah
·Use this macro because you cannot normally cancel Cheetah until the spell cooldown is up.

Kill Command
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
·Makes sure that you cast Kill Command on your pet's target. Otherwise, the spell will go to waste.

Solo Farming
#show Auto Shot
/targetenemy [noharm]
/stopmacro [noharm]
/petattack
/cast Hunter's Mark
/startattack
·With one button press, this will target a nearby enemy if one isn't already selected, send your pet on it, cast Hunter's Mark, and then turn on auto attack / auto shot.

/cast [actionbar:1] Aspect of the Hawk; [actionbar:2] Aspect of the Monkey

Misdirection On Predefined Targets
/cast [target=focus, help] Misdirection; [help] Misdirection; [target=pet, exists] Misdirection
·This will attempt to cast Misdirection on the first of three targets. First, on your /focus unit if it is friendly. Second, on your current target if it is friendly. Third, on your pet if it is out.

Example Of Using Mass Cooldowns And Trinkets
/cast Bestial Wrath
/stopcasting
/cast Rapid Fire
/stopcasting
/use Devilsaur Eye
/stopcasting
/cast Intimidation

Renataki's Charm Macro
/castsequence reset=3 Multi-Shot, Renataki's Charm of Beasts
·This macro will cast Multi-Shot on the first press. If your trinket is up, it will use it and then cycle the next press back to Multi-Shot. If the trinket is still on cooldown, the sequence will reset itself after 3 seconds in order to cast Multi-Shot again.

Nice post and a lot of good macros. Here is the one I have been using for a week or so that changes aspect AND action bar at the same time depending on whether in ranged or melee combat. It works both in and out of combat. (I noted a couple of inquiries about this in the previous thread which is now locked.)

/swapactionbar 1 2
/cast [actionbar:1] Aspect of the Hawk; [actionbar:2] Aspect of the Monkey

Hope this helps folks!

Joey, have you ever been to a Turkish prison?

How about a macro that will attempt to cast Rank 3 Wing Clip and if you dont have enough mana cast a Rank 1 instead?

I remember Zhunter having a feature which was part of ZPetAttack that would allow you to have 3 settings on the petattack bind: Hitting the key once would cause the pet to attack your target, then hitting it again would cause the pet to return, however, if you had your pet attacking one target, then changed target and hit the key again, instead of returning, your pet would go attack that second target. Hitting the key a third time would cause the pet to return.

Is this still possible with WoW 2.0?

Q u o t e:

Example Of Using Mass Cooldowns And Trinkets
/cast Beastial Wrath
/stopcasting
/cast Rapid Fire
/stopcasting
/use Devilsaur Eye
/stopcasting
/cast Intimidation

What does the /stopcasting actually do here?

Some spells don't need to wait for the 1.5 second global cooldown. Usually the type that toggles a special ablility on, but doesn't actually do any damage in and of itseslf.

So a single press of a button will do all four with only one hardware event.

This is Great, by now we all know about the bug associated with casting res on your pet when it is not dead, if you aren't, it dismisses your Pet Instantly. Blizzard has this confirmed as a bug, but until they fix it, you can cast revive pet on your living pet to dismiss it instantly and then at just about the same time Feign Death. In PVP this works great to make other Players believe you really have died (doesn't always work - but if there is enough combat going on around you it might be enough to fool some of the opposition).

Made this macro to help:

/cast [pet] revive pet; [nopet] feign death

2 quick clicks on this macro and your pet appears to fade away while you are feigning death which looks like a legit kill to a busy attacker. I did not come up with this, someone on another thread turned me onto the idea and then I created and tested the above macro and it seems to work well.

In my opinion this is how feign death should work anyway, the worst thing in PVE when you feign death and have to sit there and wait for your pet to actually die. And why isn't there the pet ability PLAY DEAD, seems like it should be a given, my real pet can do it... and while I'm on the rant how come there aren't any non combat purely fun commands like, shake hands, role over, and stop licking..... I guess that last one is more like scolding then commanding.

---They may fix this bug with the next patch, in which case this won't work anymore

When you feel the warm stale air on the back of your neck and the hair on your arms stands up, don't turn around. Just close your eyes, say goodbye, and hope the end comes quickly.

Here are a couple of macro's that I am currently using. Feel free critique them as I am still learning.

Pet Attack and mark or just Mark.
/cast [modifier] Hunter's Mark
/stopmacro [modifier]
/cast Hunter's Mark
/petattack

Distracting shot then stop attacking Can be used with Scatter shot.
/stopattack
/cast [harm] Distracting Shot()
/stopmacro [noharm]
/stopcasting

The stopattack will, if you are already attacking, stop your attack. It DS will cast if your target is one that you can attack. The stop macro is there in case I want to add a /RA or /p. Finally, the stopcasting is so I will not keep attacking after casting DS. This helps prevent me from breaking mine or others traps. It seems that it has to be stopcasting and not stopattac as it will not work that way.

My feed/med macro I wish they would have a useorder type thing that could only be used out of combat. Then you could have a list of food and try to use them in order.
# show Feed Pet
/cast [combat] Mend Pet; [nocombat] Feed Pet
/use [nocombat] 4 1

Non-Hunter
Generic Bandage
/cast [help] Heavy Runecloth Bandage; [target=player] Heavy Runecloth Bandage

Edit: Updated Distracting Shot macro.
