This is working correctly, once improved hunter's mark is on a target any Hunter's mark (improved or not) will refresh the duration of the existing mark (not overwrite it).

Ironic that you posted “L2Read” when you think this…

“will refresh the duration of the existing mark (not overwrite it)”

and this…

“will this refresh/reset the AP given

mean the same thing.

The buff does not change in any way just the duration remaining.

so, if my hunter puts imp mark on a target, and another hunter comes along w/o imp mark, they can put mark up, and still retain the "imp" mark designation?

cool

can we get this with other buffs?

Why can't the non improved hunter marks just get an "A more powerful spell is active" message.
I keep track of the duration of the hunter mark so I know when to refresh it. Now when another hunter "refreshes" I can no longer see the timer allowing it to fall off if they're not paying close enough attention.

The more people who're watching it and able to refresh it the better, I say.

I try to cast HM about every minute, under all circumstances. BEcause having HM fall off hurts more than the tiny bit of mana it costs.

So does this mean that imp hunters mark will NOT overwrite and "upgrade" a normal hunters mark? (if for example a hunter with regular mark, marks a target before a hunter with imp?)

ok...

beware exploiters who imp mark a boss pre encounter, use their hearthstone, summon the real hunter and engage the boss...

Given that this thread is about the IMPROVED mark, and since Hortus explicitly said "once improved hunter's mark is on a target...", I'd imagine that:

* Imp Mark will OVERWRITE (and refresh) normal mark
* Normal Mark will simply refresh an existing mark.

Or, more specifically (since there are technically different ranks of improvement)

* A stronger mark will overwrite/refresh a lower one
* An equial-or-lower mark will merely refresh the duration of any existing mark

But maybe I'm reading it wrong...

This seems to have surfaced again... Now that we have timers for our own buffs, I am seeing that the improved mark is being moved to someone else's timer and no longer my own(Which is improved). If it's simply refreshing, it should stay as my cast.

So is there any way to verify that it is staying improved, or is this just something that will be "working as intended" and not looked into?

It should still remain improved, even though the refresh is changing the buff's "owner".

If you test, you should see you are getting the benefits of the improved mark. If your testing shows otherwise, feel free to post.

My biggest issue is the test itself...

There really isn't a way that I know of to tell how much bonus ranged attack power we get on a boss from the mark. It doesn't show up anywhere but as a boss debuff, and the debuff mouse-over has been broken for so long(As well as other buffs) that it always reads the base value, and not the improved one.

The only place I can see a difference is in the tooltip box for myself. That does little to help when it's on the boss.

He explained it outright. Why do you need him to repeat himself so that you are not "assuming"?
