To my utter Horror, I discovered upon attempting to register for the Arena Tournament that lone and behold, residents of Maryland like myself are forbidden from entering the competition. After looking at the official legal page, I was pretty surprised to see:
Q u o t e: THIS TOURNAMENT IS OPEN ONLY TO INDIVIDUALS... (D) WHO ARE NOT RESIDENTS OF THE US STATES OF ARIZONA, CONNECTICUT, NORTH DAKOTA, MARYLAND OR VERMONT OR THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC, CANADA OR RESIDENTS OF THE AUSTRALIAN STATES OF VICTORIA, QUEENSLAND OR THE AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
Now I spent most of the last month of my playtime on the TTR and was really looking forward to seriously competing. What a disappointment.
It looks like there wont be any competitions for me this year after all, but please--someone tell me why a Hoakie state like Maryland would be ineligible?

I would look at your state laws concerning contests and such.
Our legal team performed a detailed analysis of the way the tournament works and included all of the states whose residents would be eligible. We were also able to add some new countries to the Arena Tournament that were not eligible for our contests in the past. We continue to evaluate the eligible locations for our contests and will make additions in the future as we are able to.
You can go in to account details and just change the state that you put, lewl. Wouldn't recommend doing this if you intend to actually win stuff though.
