I asked the composer, Derek Duke, and this is what he had to say in regard to the instruments used.

"There were three featured wind instruments used, the bansuri-a bamboo flute, bass clarinet, and brass penny whistle. They were all quite heavily treated/processed and re-sampled."

How did he think of that? Was he like, "Know what would sound awesome? A heavily processed bamboo flute, bass clarinet and pass penny whistle. Yeah, awesome, but only after resampling."

Are you saying you had the same curiosity as the OP and asked in the past, or was the composer like still hanging around Blizzard offices doing paper work and Janitorial services in between his musical career?
Is it possible you phoned his cell phone to ask the OP's question?

You think that might have something to with Derek Duke doing the music for that game as well?

I'd be pretty sure he's writing music for the expansion, Sunwell, etc.

Not that I don't liek the work of Duke but is there any chance of getting David Arkenstone for some more music?

Lots of Undead Areas in the Expansion... That seems like it would be right up his alley...
