Yeah, but AO was a steaming pile of crap at release. Here's hoping they learned their lesson the first time. Took them 6 - 9 months to even make the game playable and they never recovered from that.

Oh and for you WAR people saying " The Dev's explained the reason for the delay in the forums..." Yes and Dev's (or game companies) never mislead the public or just don't tell the complete story. What do you think they are going to say? That the game is in deep trouble and may end up vaporware? From a marketing / PR standpoint that would devastate the game. That's 2 or 3 delays for WAR and that is not a good sign. Look at it objectively and not as a fan. Now, it may turn out fine and some people have argued the real reason is to not directly compete with the AoC launch.

This is why blizz never releases dates until they are pretty sure. Then, if they still have to move the date, it's only once.

Actually the pushbacks are a very good sign for the game in my eyes. The Head Developer, Mark Jacobs, has said since the begining that they will only release a complete (as in all features and classes are in) and polished game no matter what. And that any release date given is in his words "only set in mud". The game hasn't even been in devevlopment for 3 years yet which is pretty amazing for and MMO that has 4 archtypes, 24 classes and 72 specs to balance plus everything else that makes an MMO. Mark has been talking closely to the community since the very begining of the game. If you feel like it you can see his newest post, this one regarding the delay.

The fact that he got up at 7am to let everyone know about the delay and ask him questions before the CE info was released was very respectable. Not only does it take big balls for a dev to approach the community with news like that alone, instead of just sending out a statement, they could have just kept quiet until thousands and thousands of people pre-ordered their copy expecting to play soon, then sprung the delay on them.

Blizzard is the King of taking their time on making/polishing games and even scrapping whole games because it wasn't up to their standard and look what it has let the Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft series they have created.

Anyways don't get me wrong, I'm dissappointed that WAR got delayed again, but I'm a huge Blizzard fan and have seen how taking their time and not releasing an unfinished game can be so successful time and time again. Unlike many other companies.

P.S. I hope AoC does good too, competition can only be positive in this kind of market. If ithe game is not ready by May 20th I hope they delay it and polish it instead of shipping it out as it is on that day. Though I doubt I'll be trying it out, at least not at release, but I wish the best of luck to anyone who does and may the PvP Gods smile upon you :o.

I heard the PvP on it is a disgrace in the Beta. If they release it the time they said they would, and want their PvP to be better, they're going to need to rewrite the combat. So don't cancel your account just yet.

P.S . Darkfall will ruin Age of Conan if it comes out this year. If it doesn't come out in a few years or so, it's graphics will be so old, they'll need to rewrite it with DirectX10 or just drop it. WoW will be safe in it's stronghold of carebears and "IWANTZTOKEEPZMYLEWTS!"ers.

Lineage 2 has
1. Much better music than WoW
2. Much better graphics than WoW (it's so much older too sigh)
3. Much better girls than WoW
4. Much better PvP than WoW

Lineage 2 however...
1. Has the worst combat system in the world that involves 2 skills at max with the others being buffs
2. Has the absolute WORST community due to some kind of unseen maturity gap

This is coming from somebody who has a LEVEL MOTHER FAKING 70 ON THE MAIN SERVER. 72 Silver Ranger. I can't believe I spent that much time on that game.

By the way, if Age of Conan sucks, I'm going back to Korean RPGs =/

You mean crap like that? If youu were to colour those graphics to look like WoW or Warhammer, they'd get sued. I can count the amount of polygons per model in that game as easily as I can in WoW/Warhammer

Please, please be good. I want an MMO that's basically a grittier LotRO tossed in a blender with Oblivion, Two Worlds and Gothic III. It "sorta-kinda" looks like that. I googled for days but haven't found any definitives on it yet. May 20th isn't too far away though...

Sorry to break it to you, but Age of Conan sucks. I'm in the Beta now. And the comment about instances... you have no idea. You enter and instance just by opening a chat window. Every building in every town is an instance. The combat system is terrible and so are the classes.

But there is one redeeming feature. Complete Nude Chicks !!!
