is a litany of players whose guilds experienced a variety of changes in the VR encounter since 2.4 was released. Please advise if this is a bug or working as now designed.

If you have experienced bugs with this encounter please report them in this forum. QA does not respond to posts in other forums.

We are aware of some issues with the Voidreaver encounter but since you have not been specific I have no way of addressing this post.

Voidreaver no longer changes targets when firing his orbs. This makes it much more difficult if to know if an orb is coming toward you or not. Sometimes you can't see the orbs until they are right on top of you, making it impossible to avoid them. A few times it seemed you would get hit by the orbs and have no warning at all.

These are things that we noticed last night while failing at 6 attempts...

VR doesn't target somebody first before firing an orb at them.
VR doesn't turn to face the target before firing an orb at them.
He occasionally fires two orbs at once.
People got hit by invisible orbs.

Something else I've seen a lot of people complain about is the orb animation doesn't track properly with where the actual orb is. Thus the explosion often goes off before the animation is anywhere near ground zero. I've also seen many times where an orb just explodes without any animation whatsoever. My personal input on the animation tracking is limited (I'm a tank, so I don't really have a good view of them), but I've definitely witnessed orbs exploding out of thin air (this goes back to before 2.4). The times I've been hit by invisible orbs are usually while we're leashing the encounter.

As mentioned before, Void Reaver no longer switches targets when shooting the orbs. There have also been reports of invisible orbs exploding without any way of knowing they were coming. I hope its a bug =(

A long standing problem that is more obvious now:

Graphics on the orb do not match the effect. The ball can be at mid-arc - and the explosion hits the ground. The ball then continues to travel and hits the spot.

I believe this is why people are getting "invisible" orbs.

The primary challenge is that VR no longer targets or announces whom he is targeting. Others have stated that above.

This has been true since well before 2.4, however it wasn't much of a big deal since most guilds relied on a boss mod or using his Target of Target to see who would be hit next. Now that that isn't happening anymore, there is no reliable way to avoid the AE caused by the orbs.

There is a bug in that there is currently no combat log message for him casting Arcane Orb (just the impact message), causing boss mods to not work. This will be fixed in a future patch.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell us whether or not it is a bug or intended change that Kael'thas in The Eye no longer uses Flame strike, Phoenixes, or Mind Control at all during the entire fight?

common sense to me would be ask that question in a forum blizz is likely to look at again, they have posted an answer here dont expect an answer to a different concern

I honestly don't mind the VR change all that much, although I really feel bad for those guilds just progressing to VR. The Kael bug really irks me though. We were on phase 5 Monday before the patch. Hoping they can hotfix this by Sunday so we don't have to put an asterisk by our kill.
