0. Tournament Canadian Entry 03/26/2008 02:20:10 PM PDT
Arena entry for Canadians:
Q u o t e: Canadian residents are not required to pay an Entry Fee in order to enter. Instead, Canadian residents may enter by submitting a 250 word typewritten essay comparing the video gaming culture in Canada to the video gaming culture in the United States on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper and mailing their essay to Essay Entry for The North American Blizzard Entertainment Arena Tournament, P.O Box 18979, Irvine, CA 92623. Essay entries must be received no later than March 31, 2008 in order to be eligible.
EDIT: Drysc has clarified. Instead of paying 20$, Canadians may choose to write the essay instead. So Canadians have the choice to either pay 20$ or write the essay.

Q u o t e: Canadian law requires there being some sort of skill testing question in all contests.
Essay= skill testing question.
Yes but its physically impossible for the letter to get there after tomorrow, also they screwed it up since I still have to use the payment page when signing up.

Now accepting paypal payments for pre-written essays. It'll cost you $40 per essay, sorry.
Ret Paladins are like shotguns, they have nice burst but limited ammo (mana).
Warriors are like chainsaws, takes them a little time to get going, but they'll cut you up.

Q u o t e: AB was much better, but wow...Ally players don't know strategy from a hole in the ground. Their idea of strategy would be to keep hitting it with your forehead until you pass out.

Well I must say I am jealous of Canadians. Seriously, writing a 250 worde essay takes all of not even an hour. I only make $10 an hour so it's much more cost efficient to write the essay.

Q u o t e: Canadian law requires there being some sort of skill testing question in all contests.
Essay= skill testing question.
Wouldn't competing in the tournament itself be a "skill testing question?"
I also want to know why this would waive their tournament fee. Charging users for the fee is unfair to begin with, making it free for Canadians is definitely not fair, and playing this horrible APRIL FOOLS JOKE to the poor saps who believe it is unfair!!!!!!!!
I checked with our tournament and legal teams and just wanted to offer clarification on the rules in regards to Canadian residents and their options for entry.
As the rules state: "Canadian residents are not required to pay an Entry Fee in order to enter. Instead, Canadian residents may enter by submitting a 250 word typewritten essay "
The essay is not a requirement for Canadian residents, it is an alternate form of registration. If you wish to register through the website and pay the registration fee you may do so and there will be no essay required. You'll be registered with no other requirements.
