On a SB Audigy, since the patch, the Use Hardware 3D acceleration on the sound options no longer works. Once this is toggled, casting sound effects for spells can no longer be heard.
I attempted to toggle the Sound_ListenerAtCharacter to see if that would reset it and that had no effect.

same here, seems center channel doesnt come through or something.

works after disabling the "use hardware sound" option
should add im also using a 5.1 speaker setup and tried all combinations of sound quality and channels.

Yeah, same with me. No sounds from my pet, erratic weapon firing sounds, etc. This happen with mods on and off.

We have identified this issue with hardware sound. We are working on a fix for a future patch.
There is a workaround, you can use software sound, or if you must use hardware sound then set your sound channels to the minimum.
Do not lower hardware acceleration settings in windows, this will only cause problems with other programs.

I set mine to use software, but now I get weird sounds coming through every once in a while. Almost like a very small quick snippet of somebody talking on the mic. Hopefully this can be fixed soon, as I was working just fine before the patch, using the hardware setting.

what a relief to read this kind of lol. I duel box, well, I play both on one computer and it was working beautiful. I havnt played much between the patch due to having to reformat my computer a couple of times. Now the last couple of days, Ive been having serious problems keeping the two characters running smooth together----played around with everything!! Until i did a wow repair which reset the sound setting causing my game play to return to normal. Because i like the sound from Use Hardware option, I rechecked it....then my problems returned. So, i shut it back off and everything was fine again. Except for the fact that alot of sound features arent heard now, like cast bars, ect. But Im sure its OK until the patch fix comes out.
