Checked the first page or so, didn't see any other threads about this, specifically, but whenever my Focused buff procs (buff from Shamanistic Focus - http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=43338), the expected "clearcasting sound" no longer plays.
I've tried this with both hardware and software sound settings.
Not sure if this was an intended change, or a bug...
Thanks Duman, we're aware of this issue, the fix didn't make it into the last 2.4 build but it should be fixed in an upcoming patch.

Leave it gone, it was beyond annoying. If you had any gear, it would proc constantly and the noise becomes unbearable. You should be shocking every cooldown anyway. Exception being unless stormstrike comes off cooldown at the same time. Do that first.
When you decide to "fix" it. Any chance of getting a choise of sounds for clearcasting? Im not a fan of the one that was used but I'll admit it was better than nothing.
Or maybe turn off the sound and let something like a combat log addon trigger a user defined sound thru the addon?
Might be more helpful of a sound if you only heard your own proc as opposed to hearing every other class with an ability like this in your raid proc'ing constantly
As a resto shaman, I found the sound helpful. I have shamanistic focus...although I don't crit that often, I do often enough that it helps my mana consumption when I'm soloing, and thus lets me kill enemies faster. If I have to melee something to death without using shocks, it takes an eternity...and yet if I use shocks liberally, I use too much mana. But I've found I can usually score at least one crit during the time it takes flame shock to run out on my target. So the occasional "ding" was helpful to me, in knowing when to cast shocks.
However, for my enhancement shaman friend, it's another story entirely. He has a massive amount of crit and is geared for DPS, so whenever I do any raids with him, it's insane. *dingdingdingdingdingdingdingdingdingding dingdingding dingdingdingdingding*
Maybe there's a happy medium in here somewhere? Maybe only make the "ding" if you are NOT already focused when you crit?
anyone else noticing that besides the sound missing, the effect doesn't even work?
at lvl 59 my earth shock costs 110 mana .... when shamanistic focus procs it should cut that cost by 60%, but the shock still costs 110 mana even with the buff up .... anyone experiencing this?
I too find the sound useful, and would really prefer not to lose it. Visually impaired players (not everyone who is visually impaired is blind!) find sound a useful cue in conjunction with the onscreen action. Some people have trouble reading small numbers or seeing small icons when they come and go quickly from the screen.
I bump the "make the sound only heard for the caster" idea. It's kind of annoying to be standing next to the mages in my group and hear it proc for them too and have to check if I have the buff.
