Well I've been leveling my priest in Blade's Edge for some time now and upon moving to Ruuan Weald I keep hearing what sounds to me like some of the music from D2. The music sounds to me like what you would hear in the Rogue Encampment when starting a character and then leveling in the outlying forest.


Blue did you guys include the music as homage to your old jewel or is it just a strikingly similar track???

I was thinking the same thing, except I heard something similar to D2 music in the borders of Nagrand and Terrokar Forrest.

There's remixed D2 music in several places. The first place I noticed it in was Blood Furnace.

Neat. I think its cool that they remixed some of the old stuff from Diablo seeing as I enjoyed that soundtrack. It was something that I wouldn't mind listening to.

There's a similar tune in the background music for Hellfire Peninsula that reminds me of Diablo II LoD too.

I loved that game's music, so, i've decided to extract some music pieces and play them in WoW with the Soundtrack addon. When i go to AV, i've set the addon to play the background music of the battlefield scenario in the Act. V. Everytime I do that, we win lol.

It's really noticeable in the Bone Wastes in Terrokar, and in some Auchindoun instances.

Also, if you're alliance, the Allerian stronghold theme(along with others) reminds me of the Act 5 town theme in Diablo 2.

D1 music is in at least one of the Auch dungeons IIRC.

Hmmm, that's intresting because i've actually been listening to the diablo 2 and starcraft via the battle net music player. but i've never noticed that, i'll have to check these places out.

Auchindoun and the smaller crypts in Terokkar sound a lot like the D2 dungeon music.

And Netherstorm music being from Starcraft doesn't surprise me one bit. Actually, I was half-expecting to see Chaos Marines and Bloodthirsters there.

D2 music in other Blizzard games is one thing, but my GF watches that show "in Treatment" on HBO and I swear it's theme music is ripped from D2. I always think she's playing D2 when she's in the next room watching it on demand.

Blizzard made an "MP3 Player" online on their battle.net website a while ago.

It contains most of the in-game music from SC, Diablo, and D2. You should check it out. It's quite nostalgic, and is good for the ears. :)

There are some Argentinian drama series whose producers ripped lots of music from Blizzard games to use as a background music on certain situations. One of these was the background music of the Classic WoW's login screen.

The only thing this player needs are the Brood War tracks.

Is there any chance we could get a Blue rep in here to compile all the palces we can here some great remixed tunes in or do we just have to find it all ourselves ;). Im interested to see a lot of the places that have some old music in them.
