0. What Files Can I Delete? 03/14/2008 10:25:11 AM PDT
There are many large files within the World of Warcraft folder that I suspect are old and can be deleted. But before I do anything rash, is there a complete list anywhere of what can safely be deleted and what should now?
I see in another thread that the "patches" folder and its contents can safely be deleted, as well as files with icons that "look like a few comets" (such as WoW-2.3.2.7741-to-2.3.3.7799-enUS-patch). What about "whirlwind" icon fles (such as WoW-2.3.2.7741-to-2.3.3.7799-enUS-downloader)? What about the WoW-1.12.x-to-2.0.1-enUS-patch folder and its contents? What the heck IS all this stuff?
OK, I don't really care what it is, just want to know if I can safely throw it away.
Thanks ...

Twarats,
Except the Blizzard Updater and Background Downloader, any file that has a blue tornado icon or comet icon can be deleted. Also, unless you are playing on the Test Realm, you can also delete the WoWTest folder.
The Patches folder can be deleted, but since the Background Downloader is currently saving part of the 2.4 patch to that folder, you may want to hold off until after 2.4 is released.
The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed.
