solid blue responce.

Nice to learn it was temporary and that the removal of his other useful threads were an unavoidability.

Fair enough, I'm sure many of us appreciate the response.

What I'd like to know, is why were so many other people banned today? I was one (this is a secondary account). If I had to guess, I'd say somewhere around 50 people were banned today, just for talking about Mega's ban, or questioning why so many threads were being deleted within minutes of being posted.

*shrug*

I get forum banned for a while when I deserve it. Take a look at the forums and you'll realize moderation is not exactly heavy handed.

You fail to see that the actions of forum moderators, deleting posts even remotely discussing the subject and banning people for pushing the issue, is a bigger deal than suspending Megatf's right to post.

You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.

Drysc, do feel free to have a look at my post..

=)

Basically its current hunter issues that I see being a problem for many people. And many of the ideas are probably things holding hunters back from seeing more promising numbers in higher brackets of arena.

It is nice to finally see a Blue response, but alas, our primary concerns are still unanswered.

The hunter community feels like it is being completely ignored, except for one of our most contributing members being silenced.

Can we at the very least have some response saying that our concerns are being HEARD, even if y'all are doing nothing to fix them?

Have a question about being a hunter?

Megatf, while drunk, offensive, and bannable, did make solid points.
Could we all move past this drama and address the main point?

Megatf would likely far prefer things improve than be able to post.

Q u o t e:
I realize he was a respected member of the hunter forums, and represented a very successful player for the hunter class, so I'll chime in here to clarify as much as I can.

We can't divulge any information regarding disciplinary action unless it's to the person that has had action taken against them, so specific reasoning isn't something I can give. I can however tell you that it's a temporary suspension from the forums, which has no bearing on his access to the game. Forum and in-game warnings and suspensions are not tied in any way, they're completely separated in that regard.

It's normal procedure when dealing with specific types of posts to moderate them in such a way as to remove all posts made from that account. This was one of those cases, and unfortunately it may have resulted in some informational or otherwise useful posts being removed. We apologize if that's the case and hope those threads have been archived in some way.

I'll close by saying that the moderation action was taken for a specific reason, there was no amount of hard feelings or animosity involved with any statements that he may have made. If you look around you can see that we're not just suspending people for saying something generically negative about a class, skill, etc. I'll be bluntly honest and say that I doubt the moderators have any idea who he is, but I can at least verify that the reasoning for the suspension taking place was appropriate and standard for the type of offense in-question.

lmao, blues DO read the hunter forums. Maybe Drysc got bored of lvling his 25th warlock and took a break from his new druid.

Why was "43.0% 50.2% 43.0%" removed from my signature, and can I put it back in or will I get banned?

And on a side note, why is it that some moderators went on a crusade to purge hunter signatures, and delete hunter posts instead of letting them grow into a debate between classes, where a reasonable change may have been suggested?

Thanks for responding Drysc!

It's good to know we can look forward to seeing Megatf's posts when he returns, if he is willing to post again.

So does this mean that you won't be putting these posts back, though they may have been stickied and well used? If so I think that's what I'd be angry about. Megatf, rule breaker or not, made some very useful guides, and they should be back where they belong, helping the hunter community.

Right, we have no ability to replace those posts as there's no function that would have archived them. The nuke process, which removes all posts made by an account, is a single-click with a single confirmation process. Obviously the moderator had no idea the stickies were created by the same account or I am sure there would have been some attempt to ensure they remained intact. Considering what I would assume was a very hectic pace of moderating during that time though, I'm not completely shocked that it happened. Creating additional work for our moderators only works to hurt the community overall.

As I said though, hopefully the stickies were archived by Megatf or someone else.

His banning doesnt explain why users who repost his guide have also had their points deleted, drysc.

Nor does it explain the selective deletion where serious threads about hunter concerns are getting deleted from all other forums, while degenerative troll posts about hunters are allowed to grow to no end.

It's extremely selective moderation and seemingly prejudice.

They were archived and even re-posted on the hunter forums Drysc, however the reposted guides were swiftly deleted.

Edit: loved your work in 2.1.0 with the raid boss thing :)
