if Osama came to the US and blew everything up, took over, and ran the country, only to find out that he really had a taste for big macs and SUVs, and then lets say he took over Canada, and invaded Mexico, and continued to spread capitalism because it made him so rich.

You name your empire after the NATIONALITY of the conquering force. YOU DO NOT NAME EMPIRES AFTER THE CULTURES THEY PREDOMINANTLY FOLLOWED. EVER.
Empires are named after the nationality of the conquering people. The nationality of the conquering people is determined by the lands of their origins.
Alexander was a Macedonian who led armies of other Macedonians, created an empire, and based his culture on the Greeks. His empire was the Macedonian one.
